I personally would improve the motor pump annoyingly noisy. And water output , had it 2 days and looking already to replace.

@@TechNuovo it's a very weak outpour , occasionally the outpour is fractionally better yet for the most part it's very little. It was purchased last year and not been used however upon moving to a new home it was unopened and used where my first thought was it's quite noisy and after washing the necessary items recommended in a you tube video and upon making the coffee's I have reached the summarisation that the water output is not quite right. It's a pity there is not a company to which I am able to send the item to gain adequate water exit and either a fix to the motor or pump so it is quieter at a cost.

Question about the espresso boost function: Is this function only for those dulce gusto espresso pods? Ie it makes it an even more intense taste? Or is the idea that you can use the standard flat white or cafe au lait pods and by pushing that button, it converts into into an espresso type flavour?

The pod tells you what level / ml to set it to, to get the best coffee. You then need to work out yourself what cup you need. Ie one pod May make a 230ml coffee, so measure 230ml of water and pour it into your cups, see which one best suits.

Thanks for making this video dude. I've just purchased a Genio S Plus from Argos and I went through three-ish tanks of water during the initial rinse stage. This was just to make sure I didn't get a plastic-esque tasting coffee like you mentioned. Three tanks was enough and I went for a Cafe Au Lait Intenso as my first pod - very impressed! A great coffee machine and highly recommended as a gift for someone... or yourself 🙌

If you get the reusable pods you can virtually stick any coffee in it including tassimo or nespresso.

Thanks for watching! No, I never had, the contents inside is biodegradable, coffee or milk, so should be ok. Could be wrong though 😐

@@TechNuovo the pods likely aren't recyclable without specialized machinery, if nestle would ever invest in them. They are made of 4 materials, a plastic foil on top, a different type of soft plastic body, an aluminum seal on the bottom, and a piercing plastic plate sitting right below that (which is very hard, and very abrasive). Together with the impossibility of washing out the coffee grounds (food contamination would ruin a whole lot of recycled plastic) before processing, these things will never be recycled in the general stream. About the only thing you can do with these things, besides building a special machine just for dolce gusto pods, is to burn them all for energy.

If you select XL thats the maximum drink size, so it overrides the bar selection; this may mean the drink tastes more diluted if the pod originally requires a low bar level

Any standard pod will work with the cold option but it’s only as cold as the water in the tank, so add an ice cube 👍

You wouldn’t, the milk comes out frothy, unless it’s like a handheld whisk that you could use with milk for something else 🤷‍♂️

An issue I experienced was when placing the tank after filling it up with water. If it doesn't line up perfectly, then the water will not flow. Took some getting used to for sure. Apart from this, I'm not too sure I'm afraid.

No, it’ll bypass the heater and be room temperature. Thinking about it, stick a few ice cubes in and that’ll bring it right down and then make the coffee.

Hi, it’s been a while since we had the machine but from memory, the boost function offers a specific temp and brewing option to get a better shot. As long as your cup or glass will accept a latte and a shot, yes you can. Just leave the drink under the outlet and pour a shot.

I bought a Dolce Gusto and a tassimo and this point applies to both. If the drink doesn't come with a separate milk pod, it's nothing but flavoured water. Pretty much all of the hot chocolate is just cheaped out water. Only Chococino worth it's price on this thing.

I don't know what's your model, but I have EDG315.b and it looks like yours (I guess). At first there's no information about the machine model on the visible side - it's on the bottom. So if you want to check it, you must remove water tank and cup (and maybe pad). If you don't, it will happen what happened to me: coffee on the floor 🤣 So the issue with this machine (or with my machine) is "student engineering": when you activate it start's counting the time for "sleep mode". But now it is in "power on" mode and it heats. So go away, after some time you go back, select the water quantity and press start button. The water starts filling your cup and... time is ticking and if it's done, machine turns off in the middle of the process 😁 First time I thought the machine has faulted. But it's just "student engineering"! 😂🤣

I did test this actually, only once, but made a cafe au lait, 180ml the capsule and the actual volume out was not far off that at all, minus some froth. How different were your outputs?

We just brought ours.. coffee is not super hot at the hottest temperature... it quickly gets cold! you need 2 capsules for an XL drink or else it's diluted.. hot chocolate is just flavored water!

Ugh this machine is shit.. its only compatable with their own brand cups. I bought all kinds of cups and shit dont work. And nowhere do they say it clearly. Dont buy this crap really

Can you use the espresso boost to add extra intensity to a normal coffee or is it purely just for making a stronger espresso?

There’s nothing stopping you but I’m not sure if it will intensify your coffee. I think the boost button puts some water into the pod, waits for the coffee to soak it up, then uses the 15bar to push through the water. Other pods will have a different amount of coffee grounds in, may not work with the higher pressure etc.
