Seal the bag first close to the end to start, then pull it out to the length you want it and then cut it off. You will waste less bags that way.

The rubber sealing strip is not in place on my new Vacuum and I am not sure which direction it goes, Does the cutout part show or not or is it the flat part of the strip that is showing?

@@wineycartwright9257 You don't waste bags. Seal close to the edge with a double seal then pull out to the length you want and cut. Fill it and seal the other end.

I've been looking for this brand of vacuum sealer in stores, but haven't found any yet. Only online. Can you tell me where these are made? I have a Nesco food dehydrator that's made in the USA. Trying to avoid buying anything made in China since they have intentionally infected the world.

According to answers on the Amazon link, it is made in China. It appears many of the Nesco products are made in China even though the company is based in the USA. I hope this helps.

do you think it will last a very long time I have a vacuum sealer for 3 years and its not working all the times and I looked up clean it after each use but I need a new one that will last

I picked moist seal and gentle to marinate with but the dang juice still pulled up and wouldnt seal. Nobody showing the tricks to marinating. Otherwise this has been my fave sealer by far.

We have the same problem. When we want to marinate, we have just been putting it in the non-sealed bag in the refrigerator over night. To deal with juicy meats, we will put it in the non-sealed bag folded down and clipped closed into the freezer overnight. Then we vacuum seal it the next day. This may not be the right way, but it works for us.

I suppose that would work for very limited vacuum sealing but if you're doing it a lot, it would drive me crazy. I use the Weston pro 2300, so I'm a bit spoiled

It works awesome. If we had the counter space and we doing large batches I could definitely see getting a more expensive, industrial type of seal, but this is great for our uses. Thanks for your comments.

Most of the time the manufacturers instructions confuse more than help. I do go back to them if I can figure something out for myself.
