I wonder if the Peet’s “espresso” capsule doesn’t have an espresso grind. It might be interesting to open a pod to compare. The thing I love most about espresso is that syrupy quality, that must be the body.

Would you say it tastes flat? Maybe they aren’t using argon as the inert gas like Nestle uses. I’m guessing Nespresso (Nestle) has different clean room conditions that reduce the oxidization even further after encapsulating the grinds into the capsules. Pete’s could also be using a different plastic medium at the base of the capsule that changes the pressure dynamics on the extraction.

I brewed the pod while I watched this video. I completely agree. It’s a nice tiny cup of coffee. I had Napoli as my morning shot and it doesn’t even compare. I got a Peet’s bundle on sale so it was worth it.

Hi. Great job w/ the videos! Did your Vertuo Next (before it completely died on you!) leak a little bit into the used pod reservoir? Mine does. Seems like the Next is not built like the Plus, huh?

Yeah mine leaks and my buddies leaks also. They are kind of junky sorry to say. But that is why I didn’t recommend them, if I didn’t have a KZbin channel I wouldn’t own the next. I am good you enjoyed the video.

My Nespresso Vertuo Next might be my worst purchase ever. It takes forever to heat up and it gives me faults all the time. I just call Nespresso every time. They have me unplug, replug, clean, and run a “used” capsule. Until there are more and better pour over capsules, I can’t recommend it as a buy to anyone unless it’s $99 and maybe only with 30 free capsules which is how I got it around Black Friday.
