Hi! I have the same machine but I don’t know why but never comes up the indicator light. I do the descaling process just by myself after every two weeks. I’ve never seen it. Maybe I have a lazy machine. 😅

How often I must clean nespeesso atelier? In instruction they say after 30 cycles. It’s mean after 30 capsules? Or what ? I make more but descaling doesn’t make light

We recommend descaling your machine with Nespresso Descaling Solution every 3 months or 300 capsules, whichever comes first, to remove internal mineral deposit that can build up, which can affect the flow, temperature and overall performance of your machine. A weekly cleaning will keep the brew unit clear of grinds and coffee residue.

Hi Philip, the frequency of descaling varies depending on how often the machine is used and the water hardness. When the Atelier's descaling indicator shows, the machine will continue to function for up to 30 coffees, however we recommend descaling as soon as possible after the indicator shows.

The paper manual is just horribly unclear. I don't know what to do to get this machine going and it is brand new. No information about an at the same time blinking cleaning and descaling signal. No descaling tab was included so I have to wait a few more days before I can use it. Why do I need to descale the machine before even have used it once? Very disappointing experience so far.

It really depends on your water condition in your area to be honest. I descale about 18 - 24 months because our water is great where we are.

I had the first... sorry... i have the first nespresso model, one of the first machines to arrive in my country, looks a small house "essenza" and still takes out coffee with no issues, never did descaling... now i am doing the descaling in the atelier after few months of use... haghhhhhhhhhhhhh... it shouldn't block the machine, just warn.

Over time, and usage, the hardness of water may cause mineral build up in your machine which can affect the temperature, flow and overall performance of your machine. Furthermore, mineral build up can also negatively impact the taste of your coffee, often making it more pungent. It's not recommended to use other solutions as Nespresso Descaling kits are specifically designed to work with our machines for the best results.
