Hi, you can increase the input line capacity if you try the follows: 1.) You can use variables: Let A=1000, B=1500, C=2000 and M=3512.2, and for (1+X) you can use X only. With these substitutions, you will get: A/X+B/X^2+C/X^3=M and solve it for X, you will get X=1.12, therefore the internal rate of return is 100×(X-1) = 12% 2.) If you have more cash flows, but some of them has common measure, you can keep more variables: Let A=1000 and M=3512.2, the equation now is: A/X+1.5A/X^2+2A/X^3=M 3.) If you want to keep all the variables, divide all the constants to keep some characters in input line: X^-1+1.5/X^2+2/X^3=3.5122 or 10/X+15/X^2+20/X^3=35.122 4.) ... and so on ... :)
