Another way to do blood without ruining minifigs, just use blu tack on them and colour it in with red felt tip pen. It works well and looks pretty realistic.

A good way to make the smoke effects besides vaping, you could use a smoke machine or dry ice.

For the night time part, I recommend using soft lights(led strips) or practical lighting(lights you can see in the shot like lamps)

I do love the blood drip effect, where you add a drip of blood every frame but i never thought of the laptop background, im definitely going to try that, maybe with a monitor so i can have a bigger scene

really helpful tips. Gives me new techniques to try. You have earned a sub. @5:24, hehe kids will have reasons to buy it now. "Mom, Dad I was smoking, I was animating". Btw for @5:58, the panning shots, incase the table surface is small or the set is too big and has a lot of things that can fall if moved, my suggestion is to use the camera on tracks technique, it's a technique used by all film industries. Basically what you do is build a track at whatever distance from the set on the base plate using flat tiles and make sure it's the same width as the camera's base and then place the camera base onto the track. Then shoot away

I tried to do a rain effect in one of my earlier videos, it was coupled with a wave crashing onto the set so it was constantly drenched lol. The lighting wasn’t good enough to really make any of it out, though.

Another way to do blood is the technique called “stud blood”. You take transparent red studs and put a very little amount of sticky tack in them then you put it on your figure

I have a tip for making blood effects without damaging figures. Use windows paint and do it as a special effect you might need high resolutions to make it look good though.

I use stop motion studio too! I’ve loved stop motion ever since I can remember and I started making my own when I was about six I post some of my vids sadly I don’t do as much lego stop motion then I used to now I do claymation and I also use black series figures I really like you’re vids and thanks for the tips they will definitely come in handy👍

I like how you used paint for blood. Many animators use play doh or some clay as blood. Play doh is a good idea but it kinda looks dry and a little weird since it’s play doh and not wet (because blood is like shiny)

I like the idea of having a Lego stud under your set when moving your set. I would just move it free style and use onion skin to see where I want the next photo. I’ll give your idea a go and see if there’s a difference

You can use a white baseplate for snow and a 1x1 trans-red brick for blood

To do the smoking one you can use a athsma inhaler for it to but u have to take pics really quick but it can still work. Or you could push down on the inhaler and hold it in your mouth and blow it on the set but U also need athsma for these 2 option cause u need a prescription

Fun fact: translucent lego pieces glow when exposed to uv light (invisible ink lights) which can make some cool lightsaber effects
