​​@@macaroni8considering that the tick rate was 4 frames (or 15 updates per second) before, the 0.4 frame improvement translates to 11.1 % quicker updates in general and the 3.4 frames improvement translates to 6.67x quicker updates on kills (assuming that it was also 4 frames before, which I don't know), then this could be a huge improvement - especially since the large kill delays were especially annoying before.

The Salmon Run changes are also worth mentioning: they make scales much easier to obtain by not only adding them as a possible capsule reward, but also adding an item that can be exchanged for them. Considering how they're normally locked to Kings and the low chances of silver/gold compared to bronze, this is a big improvement that won't force you to throw matches on purpose if you want to get scales faster.

I think the shot velocity nerf will make a huge difference to Squeezer too. You'll have to predict movement better and lead by more to hit targets compared to before.

I’m a Salmon Run player first and foremost, that Scales buff is INCREDIBLE. Now that I’m employed and my chances to grind Salmon Run shifts are choosier now, this is both convenient and thoughtful. Can’t always hop on for Triumvirate grinds, this is the perfect solution!

The 1 star EXP buff, I think it's meant to newcomer player where they bought the game recently. Splatoon 3 is even in sales on eShop and the devs know people will still buy the game while they miss many seasons. So I guess this patch (and future patch) will make so anyone can enjoy the game in its inactive states.

Very glad the Range Blaster finally got a nerf. The projectile hitbox feels larger than the vfx itself, it was ridiculous. I'd back up a good 5 feet away from a ledge in advance and still die.

The changes for acquiring scales other than from fighting king salmonids in salmon run is a great addition to the game. Help a lot with it's absurd grind & RNG in it. However, I have noticed a lot of people who play salmon run a lot, saying that this feature was something that should have been added a long time ago, like last year or something, since getting scales from the kings is so horrendously absurd sometimes. Also they made it so that in X-rank that Japan and regions near it cannot select the Tentatek Division when selecting an X-rank division. So... They can't join Tentatek, but we in Europe & America can still select Takoraka as our X-rank division I guess?

I think that the freshness for Sheldon’s liscences is just a small QoL to make the grind for people who came late a little easier, as this was also right next to two QoL changes for salmon run that make getting scales easier + the SR gear becoming rotational. The devs clearly seem finished with the game, so I don’t see why people think they’ll do third kits at all (especially 20+ when they don’t seem to want to continue patches) other than “they did it before so they have to again right?”.

5:30 the freshness xp for shrldon licenses seems to be to help players that don’t play as much to try more weapons. I have two friends who only play when they have time to play with me, and their arsenals are pretty limited at the moment. Even if the third kits are added, which I don’t expect but do hope for, this newbie assistance tool will still be present.

It’s clear they don’t want to kick anything out of the meta but they don’t know how to open it up more if that’s even something they want to do in the first place. My only problems are they didn’t make an example out of pencil (a meta weapon should not be able to dominate multiple very important roles at the same time should), and they didn’t try to adjust noobstompers like clash, wail, and 52 (meaning make them less painful for less skilled players to encounter)

I think the Sheldon License change is interesting, I don't think it necessarily has to do with third kits though. If you were to start a fresh save file of Splatoon 3 right now, it would take a really long time to unlock every weapon, compared to everybody who has been slowly unlocking them over the past 2 years. So this change seems to be targeted towards new players that are just getting the game. (This also applies to the Salmon Run scale rewards change) I have a few theories of who this audience can be (ordered from least copium to most copium): 1. They just want the game to be in a finished state. They are planning on releasing Splatoon 4 relatively soon, and they are saying "this isn't the game to play anymore, but if you DO get it, you can access the content easier." 2. They expect a lot of people to get the game for Grand Fest. Which seems the most likely, but if they actually expect a significant amount of new sales, they could totally justify adding some more content as well. 3. They are going to push Splatoon 3 hard at the launch of the Switch 2. Basically treat it like Splatoon 2 in the Switch's launch year, some form of content extension basically guaranteed. This feels a bit unlikely but at the same time, I'm sure the next console launching will cause far more new sales than Grand Fest ever could.

All 3 my mains evaded Nerfs- Yay They halved freshness requirement... meaning I got all 1 star on every weapon... and now its possible for half the effort I put into it... Ok, I'm not THAT salty about it but I do feel this change may suck for new players. I feel like the previous requirement was the exact right amount of time to see if you could figure out the weapon and if it was for you, and I praised that everytime I would get a new batch of weapons to get a star on. I would say the old one star requirement happened way too quick to get a genuine feel for a weapon, especially a harder weapon or one that's very dissimilar to weapons you normally play. If you were purely grinding for a license, getting weapons to one star could feel like too much of a grind, especially if you were on some piece of shit like vBrella that you can't win a game with to save your life.

The change to get more Sheldon licenses is definitely to help out newer players more and players like myself who have taken big breaks from the game and don't have enough licensed for new weapons. It can sometimes be tedious if you have really bad matchmaking an on off day

I am going to miss maining CRB because I'm just not good enough. It was a fun playstyle to build zones of inaccessibility with levelheaded play, but I never got to the heights of play where those mind games were oppressive, from or to me, so I will have to believe it was the right call on faith. @@AldoInzasplattershot is a good all rounder weapon that is easy to pick up. Maybe that could be good for you!

Make sure to aim upwards while firing (which increases the speed of Blob Bombs because they shrink and slow down significantly each time they touch the ground) and move your aim sideways while firing (which increases the paint and the chance of hitting an opponent with at least two Blob Bombs, who can then be finished off with a single deployment of Angle Shooter).
