I genuinely think that Azula's red fire is so that all the posters match. There is a distinct red theme for all the fire nation posters, so regardless of the actual story, it would look odd if three of the four posters were red and one of them were blue. I think they're just trying to make a cohesive poster set. I don't think they're trying to tell us her fire isn't blue, but that's just me.

Another aspect that I'd like to see or hopeful for is in the director & original creator's commentary on the trailer, they explained the live action is very much Zuko's story as it is Aang's. So, seeing Azula's red fire, it would make more sense for her to gain lightning at the end of S1 to show her prowess whilst Zuko is still hung up on his dad. As someone with siblings, it does sting when your siblings are favoured and achieve more than you in the same time frame.
@K000H Жыл бұрын
Yes definitely, but also, why throw out all the big reveals? I think many are forgetting that this show isn't just for us old fans, but for new viewers as well. Seeing Azula bend blue flames is a lot cooler to see for the first time in the show rather than in a trailer.

It's interesting because in the teaser trailer we see Aang flying towards Roku's Temple, it has to be to discuss the comet and maybe even the Avatar State, instead of waiting until season 2 to address it. Maybe "You must master the other elements and defeat the fire lord before the comet arrives." And not set a hard date until they're doing season 2 and 3 back to back (my guess/hope). I still think it will be before summers end, but they didnt want to give it a solid date in case season 1 flatlined. I think it's going to be fine.

Yep, Roku has been cast and we know Aang goes to Crescent Island. So definitely will have that conversation. It's just how much Roku will reveal. Based on what the show runner said, it seems like he won't give a date or timeframe.
@dificulttocure Жыл бұрын
Not really, there are many reasons why Roku would want Aang to contact him besides of the comet. He might just give him general directions about his destiny. He could just tell Aang that if he ever finds himself in need of guidance he could look inside of himself to contact him and all of his past lives, something like that. Or say something about the avatar state.

By now, one thing that worried me the most, after seeing the final trailer, was Admiral Zhao's appeal: in fact, as a huge fan of the cartoon, he was the only character whose I couldn't recognized the live action counterpart. Obviously I have judged by a single frame so I can be wrong, but however my wish is that Netflix hasn't changed mostly his personality, because he's genuinely the one who I felt way a lot "different", if I have to compare him to the original.

Fair observation. I'd agree that visually Zhao probably looks most different visually out of the main cast, but it's always hard to find like for like matches. We didn't get to see much of his mannerisms or character though. I think that will be important in where we really feel like he embodies Zhao well or not. I guess they could have just got Jason Isaacs to do it, Admiral Zhao was based on colonel Tavington from the Patriot after all 😂

@@thelastairprince back in the show it just didn't make sense that they learn things so fast. i've wondered about this. Considering all the animated characters look the exact same age from Season 1 Episode 1, to the very last episode of Season 3. This obviously cant happen for IRL actors. So seeing some "minor" aging is fine by me. Plus i think it'll make the romance between the characters (Aang-Katara, Sokka-Suki) feel more organic. Ive also wonder if the Eclipse will also be handled similarly as the comet.
@thelastairprince Жыл бұрын
Yep, I feel like the characters in the animation did mature through the series but that wasn't matched by their physical aging. That's something that will change a little in the live action, almost like the charters grow is matched by their aging. I think you're right on the relationships front, In the watch party kiawentiio said something similar about her sibling relationship with Sokka developing over time. Good point about the Eclipse, I didn't mention it because in the animation it's something Team avatar find out in season 2, so it's possible you're right and maybe they discover the eclipse and comet together.

I think as long as the story still makes sense and is somewhat true to the basis of it the timeline doesn't have to be the same but as long as the story is such as this is an example if they extend the time of when the comet has to come that could make up for the lapse and that would still be staying true to the story that aang has to defeat the fire Lord before the comet and still make it that he only has incense a short amount a short amount of time does it have to be one year it could be a couple years that is still very hard to master all those elements in that amount of time because as we know it took Cora a lot longer to master all the elements one of the things that I disliked about m night shyamalan's was that he cut out key characters I think if they do that too then it ruins the story so as long as they stay as close to the story as they can it should be like I said the time is not a big deal

i totally understand these changes, people grow. but i feel like this kind of fucks with the plot as a hole.. the whole idea of this show was that aang is a kid and has this avatar role thrust upon him at an early age causing him to run away and giving the fire nation an opening to attack. then when he is finally unthawed (still as a kid) he still doesnt want to be the avatar but is kind of forced into the role because he only has a year to master the elements. removing the time constraint fucks with his character developement in a big way. if there's no longer a time constraint learning the elements then what does he need to rush for? not to mention this gives them plenty of time to gather an army for the first assault on the day of black sun (unless they remove this also). there are a few other ways this can mess with the over-all story line and different characters but if i went into all of them i would be here forever. if they start removing main plot devices why even call this a live action of atla? why not just remake it all together and call it something else?

Its ruined already, since they confirmed they are basically removing Sokka's character development, due to the usual Netflix woke agenda. This by consequence alters many story events down the line. GG.
@AiNoMiko11 ай бұрын
Not necessarily. While I agree it’s disappointing to remove something that seems so integral to his character, they also did something very similar with Sanji in Netflix’s One Piece. If you’ve ever seen that anime, Sanji is a bit of a perv, he’s constantly chasing after women, specifically Nami or Robin, and in an intensely comical manner. He was toned WAY down for the live action and his character was not particularly butchered. As long as they leave enough of Sokka’s other important traits and depict growth in a different way it shouldn’t be that bad. Hell some of the other stuff the creators have commented regarding the series(like making it more for an adult audience and appealing to Game of Thrones fans) has me more worried than what they’ve done to Sokka.
@oKenshinHimura11 ай бұрын
@@AiNoMiko You are allowed to be wrong. Not all opinions will be good. What is factual is that it is not the same at all, 1 is a character trait plainly for comical relief, and the other is a key lesson the show is trying to teach via the that character, as the trait is later removed once the character grows. All you need to know is that the creators left the project after this. People are tired of having to bow down to the woke and snowflake agenda. Even Sanji losing that trait for comedy is just another woke netflix attempt at butchering anime series based on the western delusions. Again, not because they do it multiple times, it makes it right. Wrong is wrong and there is no denying that. If a few people don't want to realize it, that's on them.

We are just going to have to live with that, since they have to accommodate some things to make this work. Since the actors are going to get older and there is no way they can stop that. I mean they start right now and do it back to back without any breaks (for the actors and the production team) until they finish filming. But that would be crazy and we might get something not that great in the end if they overwork the cast and crew to meet that requirement. Their performance wouldn’t be on top of their game because of their rigorous work schedule, It would look terrible in terms of filming, special effects and cgi and the whole thing would be a mess. I’d be very surprised if people didn’t complain of the downgrade. Not too mention it would be more disrespectful for the story, since we might get a mess of show and everyone working on the show would get sick of it. I would rather have these changes and wait to get a good live action adaptation that avatar deserves then something that would make the 2010 movie look like it could be the next MCU or Star Wars in comparison.

"They will NOT look much older by then.": Please stop lying about the biological reality of living beings such as humans. You are factually incorrect on so many levels, that it's as if you had dropped out of middleschool and refused to learn anything ever since. Gordon Cormier (the Aang actor) has grown one foot since they wrapped filming (meaning from the time the special effects were added up to the end of last year when the main cast first appeared at the Brazil convention). He is now irl as tall as Kiawentio (the Katara actress). His voice has dropped. His neck is longer and wider. His face is starting to get "more square" so to speak. His legs, feet and arms are longer than before. All because of puberty. Maybe you didn't grow a ton when you were in between 11 and 14 years old, but he did and so do most teenagers. All humans of that age develop secondary s€x chracteristics and grow for one last time throughout a period of a couple years up to a decade depending on genetics.
