Isn't it ironic that we're obsessed with figuring out the ending of the movie Just as Rosie in the movie was so obsessed with figuring out the ending of friends,yet missing the crux of the Matter?.I think the ending of the movie speaks to how ignorant we are. The ending of the movie is ultimately a mirror of our reality

@dawb86

@@Thisthat1234 Nothing really all that ambiguous about it lol. We're headed in certain directions because of people in a constant war for power but most of us are too worried about all the wrong things. The whole plot is basically about how we have lost so much of our humanity and are so disconnected from one another. The little girl more or less represents those more in tune with nature/the universe that's about enjoying the more simple things in life and by following her base and natural human instincts was led to "the solution" that she wasn't even aware of. The tale she told her mother about the man in the flooded town's meaning was to stop waiting around and being afraid. Doing so led her to her personal "happy place."

The ending of the movie is simple, they got lucky just to end up together and close enough to an empty top tier bunker. With everything that’s happening what a fortunate situation they end up in. And then perhaps a sequel

Exactly! The ending was brilliant. “ No one told you life was going to be this way”. It was excellent how they weave the Friends theme song into the entire movie, including the end. It also left the end up to the individuals imagination, each person have their own thoughts on how they perceive an apocalypse and this ending allows that to play out in our minds.

It also left the end up to the individuals imagination, each person have their own thoughts on how they perceive an apocalypse and this ending allows that to play out in our minds. This movie also highlights how deeply dependent we are on technology and how isolated we are as family units. This movie did show the devastation and destruction that was happening all around, it simply showed from an inside-out, low level perspective. We’re accustomed to watching movies from a high level perspective with bombs, war, and visible catastrophe around. This movie took a really unique approach, but one that was very fitting. Instead they show how life would be like for a family who’s cut off from the world, can’t communicate, and don’t know exactly what is going on. Yet, there are things happening around them that strongly indicate something extremely bad is taking place and they have no control over it. I love this perspective, Because this is exactly how it play for the everyday person.

The ending was actually perfect. The deer represents nature and spending more time paying attention to the earth versus depending on technology. The deer was trying to direct them to the house to find the bunker that would help them survive. The deer used the little girl as a vessel because they knew that the house also would help her find the last episode of friends. And when our children go missing it helps us search for what matters.

Spoiler explanation for the ending: What people missing about the movie is that dude told them about the 3 step plan to ruin a nation & the 3rd step was for people to naturally be selfish & kill each other w/o need for the enemy nations to do it(I think the first step was to shut off communication & the 2nd was to spread misinformation). At the end, they saw that mushroom cloud & a 2nd one which meant things were far worst for the people in the city just like Kev Bacon's character said. The bunker confirmed this & also alerted that radiation was higher in the city. The animals were just a signal that something was happening to the environment & one of the first warnings the tv shown them was that strange animal migration patterns were taking place. Lastly, Kev Bacon's character gave them a final tip that one of those houses spent alot on a bunker & that they should find it. The ending was basically showing the irony that the girl found it almost by intuition(she saw a deer by the house earlier) & she earlier stated how she was done ignoring God's clues in the metaphor about God sending solutions to people as they wait for God to save them. Likely, the mom is going to find her bike outside of that home because it was the next place she was about to visit when she saw the mushroom cloud. As long as the girl is down there watching Friends, they should be able to find her in time to see that there is a bunker they have access to presuming she doesnt lock them out via closing the door when she leaves to go back home(if they dont find her in time). In other words, the ending is there for you to figure out what likely is going to take place is theyre going to have to live together in that bunker & learn to be "friends" because the world is indeed falling apart & the chances of them finding their loved ones in the world is slim to none until the war is ended. Also, theres a sortve irony about her wanting to watch Friends as the world is being destroyed by unfriendly people misled into killing each other as a greater enemy hopes to capitalize on it later. The city had hella helicopters still dropping propaganda pamphlets & that explosion was likely a nuclear one from a reactor such as the annoying black daughter kept speaking about. In the end, all theyre gonna have left is each other down in that bunker. Also theres an irony in how all the animals stuck together & had leaders but people didnt help each other just like ol dude left that mexican lady which was mad foul & pathetic. The ending was annoying because the actors & characters were annoying & they couldve shown more scenes for closure rather than leaving it to the imagination. The only character i liked was Kevin Bacon. i liked the black dude a lil bit until he tried to walk up on Kev after he denied them help. He never told them he had medicine, he simply told them he couldnt help them & if thats what he tells you, its your job to believe him, not shake him down & threaten to shoot him & search his home...thats all the more reason for him to have responded the way he did telling them to back away from the door...plus he gave them mad help via insights. He did finally give some pills for some cash but aint no proof that some stupid pills are gonna stop radiation from taking its course in shutting your body down. Dude was already vomiting blood...best Id offer his azz is a bible & some chapters to read while he still got some life in his toothless azz. If they get into that bunker, theyre lucking out even better than Kev whos likely going to end up getting ransacked by invaders or dying from the radiation himself with his daughter. He need to get in that bunker too & bring all his gear into that house to increase his chances of survival all the same.

The movie was about how we spend so much time dividing ourselves with conspiracy theories about our own government being in control, but the reality is nobody is and our inability to except that exposes us to those that want to do us harm, and they aren’t going to do us harm with invasions or terrorist attacks, they are going to use our division to drive us to attack ourselves. Our reliance on tech is more dependent on our reliance on each other and how our privilege blinds us from connecting to each other so we can be stronger mentally and physically together. All the stuff that was being done was similar to tactics done in places like Cuba and China, with sonic attacks that over time do make people’s teeth fall out.

Thing is, she wasn't even looking for it. She found her happiness by following her instincts and taking action. She kept telling everyone the deer (nature) was trying to tell them something. It did the same with the other daughter but she was too afraid/paranoid. However, it helped Julia Roberts' character reclaim her own humane nature when she steps in to attempt to save her because she acts like the missing maternal figure the Ruth character (as well as the others in general) needs in that moment as she should have from near the beginning.

I think the movie was fire. A reflection of America and what all these conspiracy theories will do to us. Kevin bacon, we are normally fake nice to our neighbors until some real shit happen. Dependent on technology. Lack of understanding when Ethan couldn’t help the spanish lady. Electric car possible issues, us not trusting nature (the deer). Just a bunch of what ifs. We don’t need an ending, it’s just self destruction. Just like don’t look up, it’s giving an obvious message. Didn’t need to be cohesive. Just like American attention span, TikTok life and a bunch of small stories

It's simply about our loss of humanity. The son's snapping pics of the girl but doesn't just go over and talk to her. Amanda should be acting more compassionate/empathetic toward Ruth (and all the characters) as she is the sole matriarchal figure in the plot. Everyone's ignoring the child for the most part. Neither man is depicted as inept but are hiding things and not taking serious action. The only character that takes action is the daughter and it naturally leads her to "the solution."

Rose was tired of waiting for her parents to teach her about CHRIST and she was searching . But none of them even knew about CHRIST. THE THORNES name on the door was the THORNS OF CHRIST what he wore on his head during crucifixion. And the title on FRIENDS DVD was “ The last one “ Mathew 20:16 so the last we be first and the first will be last . Little Rose was done waiting she went and found Christ on her own . I think when she put dvd in and the movie ended she had found Christ . Now when she was eating all that food on the table “ The last Supper “ All my thoughts

Not what they used to be. More and more nowadays I'm seeing people with bad skills at judging films and reviews at sites like Rotten Tomatoes are more compromised. I used to trust them, too much pandering to social/political correctness nowadays...

@dawb86 John campea used to work for AMC. May be a bit nerdy but he's credible and has a cast of actors , regular people, and writers. Bam

@@MandosCulture Don't get me wrong, from the TECHNICAL standpoint I know they didn't just suddenly forget how to review films properly over there lol. Again, too much goes into PC critiquing now as opposed to just even five or six years ago.
