I found it a rather stupid film, and clearly written by one or more miserable misanthropists. There's next to no glimmers of human solidarity or kindness in it. Rubbish.

Why as a white woman would I support a film produced by a man who chose a painter to paint his presidential portrait from someone who painted black woman beheading white woman. My little personal boycott as it won’t get a penny of my money.

@OneSwitch thanks for the comment and completely agree, it's miserable, painful and depressing! There's nothing positive about this film!

I disagree. The point is simple… u see how easily america can be divided? It is actually something that could be accomplished….. and the way it unfolds mimics the sense of not knowing…. I didn’t like the ending… but it was a great movie! sorry bout it.

But there have been a lot of stinkers in the last few years like "This isn't going to end well" or "Dont look up" that people praised but then watch and are like What Was THAT!!!??!!! I am so glad I did not watch this movie. Now that there are reviews of it, it sounds like watching KZbin for 2 hours that evening was much better use of my time.

Awful on every level apart from the performances (they did well with the scraps they were given). The premise was alright, but the opportunity was squandered by focusing on the least interesting aspects of a national cyber attack possible. Not even laughable garbage. Just garbage.

In comparison...I found Oppenheimer FAR more painful to watch then LTWB. Its also in need of one hour cut away from the timeline, but nothing could save this flick anyway. Its far upp in rediculessness in recent years.

I agree here, Oppenheimer was a painful session, 3hrs long was just twice as long as it needed to be, the story was confusing and disjointed, the cast was great though!

I wouldn’t call this a movie. The cgi is done badly. The ship and the deer are so obviously not real life looking. It just looks weird. There is no real story. Just a bunch of strange scenes cobbled together. No character development. The daughter and the son look nothing like the parents. I realize they are actors but at least make it kind of believeable. The black dad and supposed daughter have no connection. The whole “movie@ is odd. Also how did the girl get into that house with the bunker. Nothing gels together

The movie was OK. It wasn't that bad or a total fail. The actors played their parts they were good. The suspense was there. No doubts. I know a tons of movies far worst that really do deserve 1.9, but not this one! Come on guys. What made the movie is the good acting I saw. Id give this movie a 5.5/10
@BeingSwenglish11 ай бұрын
Perhaps a 5/10 wouldn't be unfair, but it needs an edit, down to 1.30hr, which would be far more palletable!

It was odd at the beginning. I thought the two visitors were dodgy and up to something. I still don’t know why the visitors said they needed to leave asap, but not forced to. Very odd. I didn’t feel like it was too long. I wonder if Julia Roberts really can’t dance though. Haha.

Dude I rewound the movie 3x when I saw the Obama's names just kind of a WTF moment... But oddly I've watched several of these reviews and NOBODY mentions it!! And NOBODY talks about that Julia Roberts is HORRIBLE and takes you right out of giving a f£ck about anyone else but the daughter. I imagine that the woman start convulsing due to radiation exposure and the son dies from his exposure but the Dads make it to the shelter... Happy Ending and Kevin Bacon laughs and laughs at their idiotic trade

The biggest questions of life? It doesn't touch on the existence of God or the afterlife, which is the absolute biggest question of life. The only question it seems to ask is "how would a normal family react to the apocalypse", and the movie's answer is "like they all suddenly developed autism".

I thought it was just a film with a bad ending, until I found out its about racism and slavery... then I realized it's a terrible film. Nevermind its produced by the Obamas, and the guy from Mr. Robot, which spent 5 seasons doing what this movie did in only 2 hours. It's typical Hollywood tripe. You come in expecting entertainment, only to be slapped across the head and told "fuck you! I'm not here to entertain you! I'm here to teach you!!!".
