After watching the series (sorry, I'm still watching it lol)...I ran to get a review. This series is so on point... The actors understood the assignment. They were so authentic. You're right. Mercy's acting was so OG for a newbie. Chidi Muokeme was a phenom. I think he is so underrated. He doesn't have to try too hard to act dangerous. He takes you straight to the typical Naija underground world. Peter's acting was a little forced, but I guess the producers couldn't get over the chemistry he had with Nancy. That sex scene in the car was off the hook. I agree with you that Shaffy was also phenomenal. She kept dropping some deep lines... loved the part about admiring nameless fela's dancers and the illiterates way of describing disappointment, lol. RMD, as usual, gives a certain presence to any role. His interpretation of the hard-core corrupt politician was so on point. Shola Shobowale's role was not the usual flamboyant role. I found this very interesting and refreshing, and as usual, she understood the assignment and delivered. Oh, Ini was like that favourite character that held other characters together. Ini Edo showed why she is a veteran in the business. Her role was a complicated and dynamic... a spy one minute, a friend the other, a lover this mnuite then the foe and she delivered every time. Of course, her chitchats with Nse in their native dialect were so refreshing to see. It was so natural, and one immediately understood the bond their characters shared right away. Nse was also another unforgettable character. Unlike you, I didn't have any problem with her switching intermittently from her native language to an educated 'been to' English accent. This is the 21st century and social media era. Some of the women who manage these prostitution rings have themselves practised prostitution in European countries and even well travelled. So they may not always look wasted and speak ghetto pidgin all the time. Other actors like Zubby, Yaw, and Nancy killed their parts. Nancy communicated the right level of naivety for her character. I guess any young and talented but poor lady who fate had dealt a hard blow due to their family circumstance can easily relate with her. In all, I am enjoying this. Hat's off to the producers...

As in ehn. The loop holes was just ridiculous. Also why didn’t the police find it weird that shaffy was at the crime scene. No sense

It's funny I have different thoughts concerning shaffy's role. It felt too much, and it made me immediately compare with sola's role in KOB. I know it wasn't the same, but it just felt too "foreign".

I totally agree on it being too foreign and that scene was very long too

I think it was originally a film or was shot as a film.

A cameo is when Mercy acts as Mercy. That was not a cameo.

A cameo is a small part in a dramatic presentation as performed by a recognizable or distinguished personality. They need not be appearing as themselves. So yeah... it's a cameo.

@@homewithese you were right actually. She doesn't need to act as herself to be a cameo

Actually, at this point I would revise my earlier statement and say Mercy's role was not a cameo--but not for the reason Sweet Potato Films said. Not because she's not playing herself, but because I think her role is too large to be a cameo. At the time I made my earlier statement, I had only watched the first episode and I had assumed the extent of Mercy's participation would be the two scenes she played in that episode. But now seeing that she appears in the subsequent episode, I'd say she's at least a recurring character. Paul's performance counts as more than a cameo too, I'd say.

Wrong. When Stan Lee used to appear in a small part in every Marvel movie, those were cameos. He didn't appear as "Stan Lee" in those roles. Alfred Hitchcock used to make cameos in all his movies too... and he didn't play himself.

First of, nice review although the series was not that great for me. Secondly, I feel annoyed seeing that you have 499 views but not up to 50 likes at least. Why don’t people like videos when they watch? It’s really annoying jare😑
