I remember watching the old original series 'Baki the Grappler' years ago and seeing how Baki was so full of terror, hatred and yet also had respect for his father while his father was just like this crazy incomprehensible super being of unrivalled power...seeing them sharing a meal, just having any interaction without bloodshed or at least minimal bloodshed just blows my mind.

The tension in this arc that builds into genuine Father-Son relationship makes me happy to be a Man. Those moments where you connect with your Dad are really special, but the rest can feel tense or awkward, this arc did a good job showing that. @meyearsago-lc8bq Жыл бұрын
It is in complete opposition to anything established before, though. Yujiro's ego is called hyper, so he wouldn't ever friendly talk to Baki (or Doppo and Hanayama for that matter) because he's not worthy, he couldn't prove himself to really rival Yujiro. On the other hand, Baki saw this guy break his mother's spine in front of him. Dahell with the respect and bonding, Baki does not advocate murdering people, while Yujiro goes to war and kills people for amusement in his teens.

I love that Baki could only hang out with Yujiro three times, with the first two being extremely awkward, before bringing up his mother. Yujiro is still awful, he sees his son as a glorified plaything while seeing everybody else as worthless. Eat both poison & nutritious food. Enjoy the taste of both and transform them into flesh & blood. That attitude is vital with food." Yujiro's way of basically telling his kid to eat a balanced diet. Pretty good advice honestly, from such a monstrous man.
Re-watching this months after my father passed. Sincerely, I wish I could've had these kinds of moments with him. We'd gotten close a few times, but never so intimate as Yujiro and Baki seem to be here. Never with such a level of mutual understanding, except perhaps in fleeting moments near the end. I hope to one day be a father, for varying reasons. I would like to think, whether more or less, I that I'm able to bond with my children like this, one day.
The episodes where Baki and Yujiro we’re hanging out as father and son are my favourite episodes of the anime, and coincidentally there was no fighting involved.
Hearing Yujiro educate Baki on what he eats, now it makes so much sense how someone like Baki's mom would have known what to tell Baki when he started training to defeat his father. He probably talked about it in depth when she would ask. He's passionate, knowledgeable, and of course very particular and strict, otherwise he wouldn't be the strongest.

@skankhunt4215 Because Baki fighting Yajiro was the gig"event" we were looking foward to for multiple seasons/shows. Now that it's happened, there's nothing to look forward to. Like with the MCU. Now it's just a bunch of spin offs and filler for no reason and done poorly. It's called franchise fatigue.

Now that it's happened, the key driving force of the shows i over. Just like with the MCU and the Infinity War. You asked why people think the show is over. I've explained it and you seem to not want to accept the answers. That's a YOU problem.
