The only thing that could've done better is skipping the second and third "of course I will"...straight to the somber walk toward the crew after the first, and off they go....would've hit me harder. MAYBE a different word than "RIGHT" by all 3 of them, but I cant for the life of me think of what would've been more impactful there. Thank god they didn't go with luffy just saying "OKAY!" from the manga, though.

This is probably the most iconic and important scenes in the series. The fact that Jacob is like "Shh, I wanna watch!" Mackenyu and Emily are crying and we all get teary on how well this scene was done. This is the scene that got most of us hooked.

I'm just waiting for the most badass anime moment of all time. (Spoiler alert) Zoro after absorbing Luffy's pain vs Kuma. Shanji appears, sees Zoro with his arms crossed, soaked in blood. Blood all around him on the floor. Shanji asking "What the hell happened here", and Zoro, eyes injected in blood, says his iconic "Nothing... happened..."

This scene was always my favorite. Luffy mentioned that the hat is his treasure he doesn't take it off and hand it over to just anyone. The fact that he put it on Nami after saying he'll help her shows how much Nami friendship means to him and how much he cares about her. Honestly this scene always makes me cry.

She honestly probably had the hardest job out of the entire cast. In a cast full of over-the-top larger than life characters, many with fun and flashy gimmicks to spotlight them even further, she had to play a reserved, grounded character that was also written to be antagonistic towards the series lead.. a lead who's also written to be as innately loveable as possible. It'd be so easy for any character with her set up to end up a dud people don't care about or even an irritant thats just hated by the audience. The nuance she brought to her scenes is such a critical element to why it worked, she did a lot of heavy lifting and it's unfortunate that it probably isn't going to really get much notice.

Every time they hinted Nami might potentially betray the crew, etc. Her facial expressions alone spoke volumes about her inner struggles and feeling of helplessness covered by the mask of judgement and hate. So in result when Luffy felt something was off and persisted on pursuing Nami it was also very natural for the audience as you probably could also easily tell something was off. She did a splendid job!

I love how Emily Rudd really cared about how she delivered that scene. She's absolutely correct. This scene in the anime is what got everyone hooked on One Piece. So glad they handled it with care. I was feeling really nervous when the series came out, wondering If they were going to do a good job delivering this scene, and lo and behold I realized I had nothing to worry about.

This was one of the scenes they absolutely needed to get right and they did it in SPADES. They did such a fantastic job - Nami’s fury and despair was captured so beautifully, it gave me goosebumps. I also love how perfectly Kiki goes from goofy Luffy to serious Luffy, he really was made for this role!

That was amazing too, but in my opinion she did her best job when marines were taking the money away. Her screaming and trying to fight them broke my heart and made me cry. At this moment I totally forgot I knew this scene and it hit like it was for the first time. Honestly, this haven't happened during any other moments on the show. @@Makingthemarks I'm not entirely sure how it works. The blood could be either in the fake knife or as u mentioned inside a fake layer of skin. If it was inside the blade then the bruising she got would be easily explained. If there was fake skin then she must have stabbed herself very hard that it hit her actual skin! I'd also assume there was a bit of CGI involved, but that didn't stop Emily 👏

I was sobbing, this scene was so heartbreaking, as it was in the anime. They did a great job at giving the audience the ability to empathize with the characters just like in the anime. Not to mention the chemistry that this cast has! I can feel the love/care for one another and the bonds they have as characters and in real life.

Fascinating as well because I've always thought of Luffy & Nami as the biggest crybabies in the crew (besides a certain suuuper dude) even if they're such headstrong characters. 100% agree this was THE SCENE to make me realize how special One Piece was back in the day. Definitely one of the most iconic One piece scenes and I think they nailed it. One minor nitpick is I wish it had been at daylight like in the anime because it’s a little bit harder to see the expressions on everyone’s face, especially the shots were Luffy rallies the crew to go to Arlong Park, but yeah otherwise fantastic job. I’m glad Emily also felt how important it was to get it right.

I'm really loving the cast more and more almost as much as I love the actual strawhats just their chemistry together and the way they really care about and enjoy the actual source material. it really shows that all of them along with the whole production really want to honor One Piece.

I watched the moment when Luffy defeated Arlong, screams to Nami that she's part of his crew and she can't believe her luck because she realizes she's free, several times because he's so crazy and just pure goosebumps I also found the moment cool when Sanji takes off his jacket to beat up Black Belt because he insulted Nami and Zoro says that Black Belt now has a problem because he has noticed that Sanji can fight really well.
