The way this movie handles the buildup of the "legend of Santa" is very organic and ingenious. It's a masterfully crafted confluence of individual motivations plus creative interpretations by the imaginative minds of the town's children. And it's great because it's never abundantly clear if this is the story of "Santa Claus, an actually real person", or it it's the story of "Klaus and Jesper, and a wild legend their antics sparked up" -- the movie leaves such a conclusion up to the viewer. And in doing that, it has plenty of room to nurture and foster an identity of its own, separate from that of Santa Claus.

@@GabrielDalposso Honestly, I can tell that this is hand drawn. It may have that 3D shading, but the drawings and emotions are clearly 2D. You rarely see that with Western animated films today. In Japan, however, the look is common. Much more so.

The movie disproves the idea that kids are dumb. They’re actually really attentive and smart, people with their own lives. A kid saw a missing cookie, ONE cookie, and knew that who delivered the presents loves them.

@@randomguy56789 I disagree. Aksel Ellingboe is an idiot, Tammy Krum is clever in a cruel kind of way but the inability to change one's opinion is a sign of weak intelligence. Just because she's reasonably articulate doesn't make her actually smart. The smart adults in Klaus are the ones who take the cue being offered to change their behavior, learn a better way of living, and not let the archconservatives convince them otherwise. In the end, the children of Klaus and Tammy, boorish and brutal as they look, are smarter than their parents. They can see a new reality and change their behavior. They can learn to be better people, as brutal and stunted as they are to start with. Their parents cannot claim the same. Tammy Krum's idiot son is the smartest guy in the room. He broke the feud. Jesper tried, Klaus tried, Alva tried, but a few people still clung to the old ways. Olaf Krum, by saving his counterpart's life, finally succeeded where these other "smarter" people failed. He made peace and together with his new wife, shamed the remaining belligerents into behaving themselves. And good for him

Actually he's right...I mean when Martin scorcesse has to go to Netflix for funding because studios aren't convinced his film will make their money back...and studios are literally using their movie theater connections to keep their films longer than independent films and etc which are taken off in 1-2 weeks, when Steven Spielberg has to scrounge for funding for movies like Lincoln, and the only films that breaking box office records are "super hero films" then yeah there's a problem in the industry.

If u are a good, he will give u treats, if u are a bad he will whip u. Perchta is a witch like figure who will give u silver if u are good, and if u are a bed.....well, she will cut u open then removes ur organs and then replaces them with straw.
