Bicep Deployment Stacks - Azure Atomic Resources
This presentation will introduce the concepts of Deployment Stacks in Azure Cloud. We will briefly discuss the concepts to build a foundation and then quickly jump into a live demo to utilize this deployment method.
Overview:
Deployment Stacks enable the concept of Atomic Resources in Azure and allow for resources to remain unchanged by external identities for the life of the resource. The power of Deployment Stacks comes with a new deny ability in Azure Role Based Access Control to remove the ability for identities with permissions to perform an action from the scope of the resource or a parent scope to perform actions against a group of resources.
Benefits of Deployment Stacks:
Simplified provisioning and management of resources across different scopes as a cohesive entity.
Preventing undesired modifications to managed resources through deny settings.
Efficient environment cleanup by employing delete flags during deployment stack updates.
Utilizing standard templates such as Bicep, ARM templates, or Template specs for your deployment stacks.
