Geek Dunn Ryte Wow that was totally awesome 💯👍! Btw, how did you sign up to win that router? My newest router set up is the NETGEAR Trek Travel Router and Range Extender. Basically, it's the newest router I currently own. I really love it, you can take it with you any where. It has 5 modes; Router, Access Point, Range Extender, Bridge, and Hotspot. I mostly use it for the USB part like file transfer to my flash drives, and hotspot when I ever need to access the internet. What's so cool about the hotspot mode is that when NETGEAR Trek is connected to "xfinitywifi", well see, Xfinity WiFi offers 2 sessions which is 1 hour per session per month. NETGEAR Trek uses that one 1 hour session and shares it to all the devices on it's network. Xfinity only allows one device to use that one session, so if I pay for it, Trek will share it. I love it so much. Hey, I wish I can get that same router likes yours. Sorry for the long comment, hopefully you understand what I'm saying. Anyway Great Video and keep up the good job💯👍

Congrats! Great purchase! It's still a fantastic router for me! Depending on the size of your home, you may want to consider a wireless access point to extend coverage, but in my 1,100 sqft home I get coverage all the way out to the end of my driveway! Thanks so much for the comment!

With others I notice some significant performance decreases as time goes on, but I haven't had that problem with this one! I still love it! :)

I ordered mine yesterday. Received it today. AND IT'S AWESOME! on my laptop i get 190mbps on the 5Ghz wifi. And on my desktop using powerline 500 i only get 90 mbps. Now i'm gonna need a wireless card for my desktop :P

AWESOME!! I'm so glad you're enjoying it! As far as the card for your desktop, as long as you don't have a color theme for it and don't mind spending a little bit of money, I would recommend either the ASUS PCE-AC88 4x4 Wireless AC3100 www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16833320313 or the TP-LINK Archer T8E AC1750 www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1CZ3VU4024. Personally, I would go with the ASUS because it's a quad band so you'll have a greater chance of having a more stable signal, while the TP-LINK is only dual band but should work just fine. Just some food for thought!

what a coincidence :) i was just looking at the ASUS card. It's a little pricey but it's gonna serve me for a long time too. So i'll probably get that one. Thanks for the recommendations

Yeah, when I'm looking at this stuff I usually think to myself, "Do I want to go cheap? Or do I want solid and reliable?" That's part of why TigerStorm took me so long to build because I wanted to buy parts that were gonna be solid. Build video will hopefully be ready next month!

Will I see a difference between this router and my netgear nighthawk 1750 router.

Not a HUGE difference. You might get more range due to the extra antenna and a tiny speed booth due to the X4S having a wireless speed rating of AC1900 vs the 1750's AC1750 so it's not really worth the upgrade in my opinion.

I think it will. I’m able to get decent coverage in my 2,000+ sq ft house.

Would this router be good even though I only pay for 300 Mbps?

That’s exactly the internet speed I have! It’s great! It’s actually better to get something that can handle higher speeds so that it doesn’t overheat or have other problems when running at max capacity trying to handle the maximum speed it was designed to handle. The Netgear Nighthawk X4S has worked flawlessly for me for a few years now! Just make sure to keep up with the firmware updates and you’ll love it!

Will this work through walls? My cable comes in in the basement am I gaming system is 2 floors up, will it still work?

There is a small possibility that you would need to get a wireless access point, but my house is 2 stories, my router is on the ground floor, and I have strong signal throughout the entire house, even out to my mailbox. There are a lot of variables with it. If you are really concerned about it, maybe look into mesh networking. I've never seen anyone game on one, but I hear it's pretty solid. As far as the Nighthawk X4S, I think you might be ok. The range on it is pretty outstanding!

What coverage range can you expect with the X4S?

I would probably say around 1500 sq/ft. I live in an 1100 sq/ft home and the signal is still strong all the way to the end of my driveway. But I also have a ranch style home. Multi-level I would recommend getting some wireless access points.

I'm sorry you feel that way, in what way do you feel it's not genuine? Is it my "performance" in the video? Or is it the results? It's been almost a year, and my router is still going strong!
