That 2008 Holland kit was epic. Those baby blue socks were (chef’s kiss) - really made the oranje jerseys pop.

True, I'd forgotten how good it looks. Not a fan of the all orange kits they've been going for in recent years, but that seems to be a trend with international kits at the moment. Germany seem to have had all white kits for a while now.

This is the first time I’ve been able to rewatch the highlights since I watched the game back in 2008. Italy was simply unlucky that day. 2 possible missed penalty’s and Italy simply couldn’t finish. They were far better than this game showed. Also to note, that Holland squad was exceptional however, how did they get beat by Russia in the knock out round??????

The Russians at that time had a dutch coach, Guus Hiddink. Guus was the coach that had led the S.Korean team to the semi-finals in 2002 WC and the dutch team to 1998 WC semi- finals He knew all the dutch players very well. Their cons and pro's And of-course, understood the way the dutch played. Tactics.

Pero es que desde que yo me acuerdo, holanda siempre ha tenido un equipazo muy fuerte con jugadores como: Van nistelroy, Edgar Davids y muchos más, y además de la Eurocopa del 88 no han ganado nada ! Eso es lo que no comprendo, teniendo siempre los mejores jugadores...

@@esb-ol6ydi am from 1970.In 2010 we almost won the worldcup.I remember 1988 very good when we won the european championship...i was 18 at that time.But in 2010 the team with Arjan Robben and Giovanni van Bronkhorst were the best

@@davidecolombo3507 You don't know the rules. A player can never escape offside by crossing the back line. There was an Italian player behind the line, hè is still part of the game. So together with the goalkeeper there are 2 players in front of Van Nistelrooij, so no offside.
