These young actors should be allowed to treat their acting opportunities as jobs. They should not be compelled to pretend that their acting partner is a real life romantic partner. These acting opportunities should not hijack their personal lives. They should not be forced to be paired with the same acting partner throughout their entire career and fear career suicide or fan backlash for daring to want to explore opportunities outside of the pairing. It is just so sad that James has been made to feel bad for wanting to pursue his dreams without being tethered to the NetJames pairing. They are more than the pairing. They can still maintain their friendship with each other while James focuses on other opportunities. Net is a great actor. I look forward to seeing him grow as an actor and taking on roles that show his versatility.

After the friends series, he should’ve said enough is enough then people would’ve understood but wait until you’re in the middle of a series and he said it I think that’s why people are pissed off. They were looking forward to once upon a time.

@@taleaferguson5590 I am 52 years old and I've been in my chosen field for 20+ years. It took many, many years, jobs, managers, colleagues for me to find my voice and feel confident enough to use it and speak up for myself. He is young and I believe he should be afforded some grace. He was probably fearful to speak up because he did not want to disappoint people. The fact that he dropped out during production makes me wonder about the working conditions. I think we should rally around him and do everything that we can to protect his mental wellness and support and uplift him moving forward.

I suspect that the company kept changing the scheduling and pushing the new series LUaT deeper into the future, despite the great response to the pilot. It was also delayed to focus on the Bed Friends sequel MM that didn't get nearly the same buzz as BF. If the company and the writers didn't actually have a full series script to work with for LUaT, it also can become extremely uncomfortable for the actors involved. NetJames should have had everything filmed and released last year. Then James could have easily focused on his singing and idol work. Instead, the company pushed him into extended fan service, modeling, group entertainment shows, etc and had him dolled up and posing like a marionette. You often saw behind the scenes footage of Net protecting James while he was trying to get some rest, in between shooting and events. The company probably repeatedly broke promises and failed to meet expectations multiple times. James probably tried to be professional and patient for as long possible. I'm guessing that the never ending delays on the series LUaT and probably the script were FUBAR & he had had enough. That's why Net is upset and understanding; but he's not angry at James IMHO. You could see James's energy noticeably changing this last year in various shorts from events. Net had a front row seat to see how everything was affecting James. Then James was injured, which added to his stress. Everyone should support them both, in whatever they do personally and professionally. And, when Net finds a new acting partner for his projects, I would be very surprised if that suspended series LUaT ever gets finished. It has had nonstop trouble. It would be better for Net to be in a brand new and fresh project.

There are more behind the scenes that we do not know about. As much as they try to make it positive, Net and James are drifting apart. Love Upon a Time is a historical series which requires a lot of work and patience. The language, acting, props and all are sophisticated. In my opinion, James doesn't want to waste time on this project anymore, but Net wants to do it. We just have to respect their decision on it.

let me play devils advocate: major decisions like this does not happen overnight. i know a few actors who have been an actor a bl actor and did their side stuff. plus he totally removed himself as lead . which means they will have to reshoot all over again. and did he break contract for the series. how is he not being sued. this will cost more money for production if thats the case and a delay in schedule. he is still in the company just in a different area. now he wants to be an artist (painter) or someone behind the scenes what type of artist. i suspect there is still stuff we dont know. in my opinion this story has plot holes we may never know. maybe he just got tired of being in front of everyone and watched. if thats the case i get it. living your life in the open looks harsh. good luck to net finding a new person, if he can, this is not easy. their separation is a metaphoric death that should me mourned and then healed.

I agree with what you wrote. This didn't happen overnight. And the fact that there were no "bad" consequences for James, like being sued for breach of contract, means, in my opinion, that there was more behind it. Like maybe trying to avoid a depression, which would have happened if James had continued to work on that series. Who knows? Maybe they are very good friends or even a couple, but don't like making it all public, wanting to enjoy it privately instead. In this case, it's actually better for them that they "broke up". Not being in the spotlight could save that relationship.

Well I don’t think they care if we’re happy about it. It’s their decisions and their lives , not ours. It was two actors. There will be others. It wasn’t personal at all. One didn’t want to act he wants to sing! I wish them both good luck in the career they chose for themselves.

Net obviously was really upset about this. So everyone saying it’s “just acting” it really isn’t. Everyone was affected by this. James should have waited until the series was over at least. He was on a career high and just left everyone high and dry after so much work went into what they were doing. You want to be a singer? Fine. But the way he did Net was just wrong.

While I do think James should have made this decision before everyone, including Net was involved in an ongoing production, I guess he had his reasons. I can understand Net being so emotional, because James' decision affects his own career right now as well. A new pairing in the middle of a production may not go over well with fans. it's very difficult to make that work with someone new. Net knows this, so I'm sure he is concerned about his own acting future at least for the near future. He will be just fine eventually, but I can understand his fear right now. The Thai BL industry is pretty cut throat & fans can drop people fast, or get angry & walk away from BOTH actors, even if only one made the decision James has. I wish them both well. it's a rough business to be in.

As far as I am concern, Net was always the better actor and always gave 100%. James was just ok. Maybe James realized this and that is why he decided to go out on his own. Net will do just fine without him. I think it was awful and so unprofessional that James put himself first and just quit in the middle of a project. A professional and caring person would have finished the series and then went his own way.
