While releasing the loops (after releasing the thumb loop), you might want to hold the partially made knot with the left index finger from behind. That prevents the knot to slip below the mesh you knot into (which would make it possible for the "knot" to slide, something we should avoid!).

So for lacemaking do you prefer this one or the sheet bend? I’m struggling with this one.
