Our biggest lake on the complex, a runs water which is fished by anglers targeting different species. The water caters for big Carp hunters in Summer, and Silver Winter leagues in Winter. Keeping on top of the biomass in this complex water in essential.
After the end of the netting process over 2 days, we've seen plenty of silvers come out of Holbar, the larger ones being put back and the smaller ones being removed and put in our spare stock lake on site.
Any F1's and smaller Carp have gone into Spey & Marsh. We also saw plenty of our larger Carp appear and are staying in Holbar ready for the warmer weather again! 😍
We also saw plenty of decent Perch, Tench and even some Chub!
Thank you again to AJS Fisheries for netting Holbar! What they had to say about the netting:
🗣️ “Biomas control is an essential part of fisheries management, the large numbers of good sized roach and bream spawn each year creating excessive amounts of fish, more than the lake can naturally sustain.
By removing a large percentage of the smaller fish it provides the bigger fish with the space and oxygen availability to remain healthy and continue to grow.
The small fish removed will be rehoused to our on site stock ponds to be grown on and restocked across the site in the future.”
