All of my Amigas were networked. It was definitely a money saver.

Nice! Didn’t know about envoy. So do you still need a TCP/IP stack on the boot floppy like Roadshow? Or does Envoy already have one? Cheers 🍻

Envoy has its own IP stack, but it's not a normal TCP/IP stack. My understanding is Envoy just uses IP, but not TCP or UDP. It's weird, and there are some pieces I still don't 100% understand. Envoy can co-exist with a normal TCP/IP Stack like AmiTCP or Roadshow, but you have to get the settings right in order to do so. I have a follow up video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gn-cd4qoa8-Dqs0) where I get things set up...and when I have time I'll make more.

Very neat, learnt a couple of new things. Thank you! One thing, so is 'Leave out' like a symbolic link on Linux?

Not quite. Workbench keeps some data on each volume about "left out" icons and it will display them in the main Workbench window, if an icon is listed there. Icons on the Workbench window aren't real files. Unlike Windows, Mac or Linux, there isn't a directory where you can see those icons. In fact, the command line and most other tools don't really know anything about "left out" icons. I might do a little short video explaning this more.

You should make a video on how to install and setup Envoy aswell 🙂

I'm planning to. The only publicly available source of Envoy is a floppy version on TOSEC. I don't think it was cracked, but it's from a cracking group that converted the CD-ROM distribution to floppy. The installer script on that completely broken...I had to hack on the script for a while to get it to work...and it's not even the latest version! The last release for Envoy was only distributed as a patch set and that installer script doesn't work with the floppy based install...it's just a mess and a real pain in the butt. I'm working on an updated bundle with working install scripts and the latest versions of everything. Once I've got that finished I plan to make a video on how to set it up.
