I have 2 Accurascale class 37’s in BR Green and factory sound fitted. I have the same problem with both, sound cutting out. The only way I have found to get the sound back on again is to tilt the locomotive whilst on the track until all the wheels on one side are off the rails, then wait a few seconds for the stay-alive to run down, then return all wheels back onto the track, sound starts again. I’m of the opinion that Accurascale know about this issue but have just kept quiet!! Because I purchased my second class 37 directly from Accurascale, I was given the opportunity to review this model on Accurascale’s website, I wrote a review detailing this issue, Accurascale took it down!

Thank you so very much Tony for watching my video and you leaving this comment. In my personal opinion ACCURASCALE ARE COMPLETE GITS. Luckily I sent my 37 back to them & got a full refund. Also I asked why Graham Foulston got a FREE SOUND FITTED 37 as shown on his KZbin channel. Their reply CATEGORICALLY DENIED THEY GAVE HIM A FREE LOCO. They said it was a replacement for one he had problems with. I've had so many problems with their sound fitted Loco's. Their Quality Control needs looking into. I've left negative reviews on their website about these, but they treated them the same as your reviews, they never published them. My advice to you Tony is to make a video on your KZbin channel, so the whole world can see your experience with them. I wonder if the speaker is overloading the amplifier on the decoder. Appreciate this isn't really your issue to resolve, but are you able to reduce the volume by changing the CVs and see if you still get the same issue? Hope it all gets resolved for you. I've got one of these on order in the next batch.

Hello again Just a quick update from my own perspective, using CV63 I’ve reduced the sound volume output on both of my Accurascale class 37’s from the default setting of 192 to 150. Since doing this I’ve had no more issues with the sound cutting out. I hope this information helps you resolve your sound issues.

Thanks for your info Tony. Im really happy this seems to have resolved your problem. Im not savvy with CV's, also Accurascale had advised me "it didnt appear to be this problem with mine". So I just sent the loco back for a full refund as Im so fed up with getting duffer locos off Accurascale. Really none of us should have to do these things. They should have checked these things out, but NO they send crap out & get us purchasers to find all these problems for them. It does really annoy me. Yes Accurascale have admitted their design relies upon 2 x 4ohm 'speakers in parallel which overloads the audio amplifier at worst blowing the chip. Schoolboy error I'm afraid.

Well I sent the piece of crap back to them & after sometime got a refund. Had used some of my points to purchase, so getting these back was a struggle. They don't automatically give points back so took a few weeks of bloody texting backwards on their stupid "customer services texting service". At 11.01 i heard 3 clicks which sounded like static , the same at 11.38 when you started up , could there be a issue with the stay alive capicitors ? i just purchased the `R O G ` 37 BUT DID`NT GO FOR SOUND ....yet ...

The click from the loco is very faint on video, but in real life I could hear it. Have been advised it was probably the decoder tripping from over heating. Then the Click was it resetting itself. Don't care now anyway as I sent the piece of crap back to Accurascale & got my Hard Earned Cash Back. Won't ever purchase another Accurascale loco again as I've now had 4 duffers off them. Can confirm that changing sound volume down to 145 value in the CV solved the issue for me on 37402. Only problem I had with it, everything else is superb

Your loco was actually running for a bit of time before the sounds cut out, but loco was still running"? Asking this as Ive been told this fault maybe due to a decoder failing, not the sound volume. @@bluebellcentralmodelrailwa4064 yes, it would be when the sound level would peak and make a fzzzzt click sound and still move fine but you had to cut track power for 10 seconds before you could restart the engine and other sounds. I thought it was the stay alive causing feedbacks so I got the dcc concepts anti surge but that made no difference. I am assuming it is just tripping the circuit protection limits of the Loksound 5 decoder for the audio amplifier

I think it’s the decoder. My Manor is not loud enough and the volume can’t be set any higher than 145! So assume that if the volume was set above the same thing would happen!

Thats what people have advised me to do. Im not familiar with changing cv's so hope it works. No one should have to do these things straight out of the box. does it do the same on a rolling road ? sounds more of a decoder problem, maybe its getting too warm then cutting out ? Sure Accurascale will sort it out they are pretty good if you need help. You could also remove the decoder, check the pins, and reseat it again incase its not seated properly, check the wires also

I’m afraid it’s the DCC chip It’s faulty. I had the same problem and ended up changing the chip and it works absolutely fine now.

I will never purchase another loco off Accurascale as I can't trust them to deliver goods that arnt faulty. I was looking forward to having this loco. So instead I purchased a Hornby Network Rail yellow 37 & I will be fitting a TTS Decoder into it. I'm glad you got yours sorted out. Unfortunately accurascale appeared to have purchased a large quantity of faulty DCC sound chips and that’s where the problem lies. Rather than getting a refund from accurascale, I sent my loco to Legoman biffo he confirmed the same. Loco is back with me with a brand new ESU Chip and it works very well. Hope this helps Chris

I am sorry to hear about the problems you are having with Accurascale. They are usually very good with customer support. I think I will get a Bachmann Class 37 instead after seeing this video. As for Graham Foulston, he stopped speaking to me when I came back home to Northern Ireland back in 2017. If Accurascale will not solve the problem, send the model back to them for a full refund because you are covered by the 1979 Goods Fit For Purpose. Just don't take any shit from them mate. If they cannot or will not give you a satisfactory service, then use another supplier. The Bachmann new Class 37's are only a wee bit more in price but they will work better. ScaleTrains has way better customer service than Accurascale does. I was going to buy their Class 31 and Class 50 but after seeing this. I am not investing into a company that doesn't care about its customers. If I get one of their models. I will go for no sound and use a retailer. Peter.

But alas I wish I hadn't bothered to order a 37. I wasn't going to order 1 not after the crappy 3x 55's I have off Accurascale. But I thought this Network Rail 37 looks so good, so I gave Accurascale another chance hoping these would be OK. But how wrong I was. Hopefully I can get something sorted with them tomorrow. Since I got back into the hobby three years ago, I have always bought Hornby locos. Almost 20 locos, only one problem, phoned the Hornby guy explained the problem, sent the loco back and it was returned, fixed in 4 days. My problem was a complex issue with the decoder. When I hear stories like yours and you are far from being the only one, I just wonder about all these people who snear at Hornby. Get your money back and go Hornby. Now that HM7000 has come along you can get great sound for £60 instead of the ,£100 or so Accurascale and the rest charge.

Another issue with these locos. I would go for a refund. Bargain or not, it just has to work properly. I am surprised that there are so many issues, but AS are just getting praised in press and forums. I had problems with AS locos and returned the Deltic and the 37 and cancelled the 50. Just be prepared to wait for ages, as they are dead slow on refunds. If they release a better loco, I might buy it from retailers, less hassle and quicker service.

I paid with some of my points credit & the rest on credit card. So I expect the money back & I would like also the points I used recredited. I know they will take the points off me that they gave me for buying this, & that's acceptable & understood. I really have had enough with Accurascale locos. I've got 3x Deltics all with problems. I'm just so fed up with the crap I keep getting. I put out honest reviews but then people attack me in comments. But this is how it should be. Its my personal experience with them. But I can't see them giving me a free loco (like they do with some people) as a sweetener. People slag Hornby off but most of the time I've not had any issues with their stuff. Infact I just sent off for a Network Rail yellow class 37 from their railroad range, & I can bet that runs flawlessly. No need to be so negative in the title for a simple issue. If it gets easily fixed, which it more than likely will then its not a waste of £260. These models from Accurascale are incredible value for money, and have seen hundreds of posts of the 37s and examples that work flawlessly. In every batch of product, this is the same with everything, there will be the odd failure. That’s just the way of the world.

So how many Accurascale 37's have you bought. As you dont mention anything like yours is OK. If its easily FIXED I planned on CHANGING the description of videos. But I pay for every model with My Own Money. I dont get given Free Items to review. So I feel I have the right to Tell It As It Is. Its a review of my experience with this item. The thing is Its Not An Isolated Incident, Sound Issues have happened to many peoples models, & dont forget How Many More People are out there who have had problems but haven't let the world know.

I had a few issues with their nuclear flask wagons, i was pretty annoyed about it, i got in touch with them about it and within a couple of days they sorted the main issue, a few weeks later they sorted another once the part came into stock, regardless of the situation they will sort it out, not everyone will have a 5 star review, that is genuinely the way of the world.
