It takes a very special person to transcend all the hype and pressure that get put on professional athletes, especially in snowboarding where hawking clothing and product is such a big breadwinner for most companies. To sponsor and film such a minimalist guy with a unique mission - so far removed from the big money of televised contests, etc. - shows courage both on the part of the rider and the companies willing to sponsor him. I think his riding has the potential to connect with a non-rider, and possibly larger audience. He's a guy that actually inspires me to want to snowboard.
