Pardon the pun, but this is mind-blowing info!! I'am sixty- six and was called a bird brain so many times. Use to make me sad until I found out birds are really smart lol. Self regulation/executive function...man makes a world of difference.

How is that a pun? It's a simple analogy. Anyhoot, there is a book called The Human Nature Of Birds you would really enjoy.

It is not imparing because it is some Attention/Distractability Disorder. *It is a Disorder of self regulation.* Powerfuly said, and seems like every person i meet (even some psychologists in switzerland a very rich country) does not get this, and sadly acts in full accordance to that misconception.

That seems correct, Hans Kraut. It's a war in my brain between what I should do and want to do and without the executive function, the things I want to do often win. I have found that extreme perseveration can result in focusing on something obsessively for years and having a positive result. I am not sure if that is a part of ADD or some comorbidity.

These videos are so informative but equally depressing and frustrating. My high expectations combined with a high sense of self criticism effects me so much. It doesnt seem fair.

Developmental delay.....I guess this explains the failing a grade, dropping out of school etc. ...which I know he's mentioned. Explains why it's hard to do age appropriately & with existing adhd symptoms. Makes so much sense.

Every time you give examples of children you are speaking about my children, 20+ years ago! (“Reactive Attachment Mom” with 3 oldest adopted subs being girls with RAD…)
