This is very helpful didactic education. I am a Clinical Neuropsychologist, much of my training is in neurocognitive functional testing. I truly feel the combination of functional diagnostic testing along with EEG data is the future of systemic diagnosis along with metric driven interventions both non-pharmacologically and also pharmacological. Looking at the root of mental health as electrical, not the secondary and tertiary structural and biochemical/medications. We should always focus upon the underlying etiology, not chasing symptoms. One of my research interests is EEG & Autism. In my experience, it is very rare those with a proper spectrum diagnosis through neurocognitive functional testing, do not have epileptiform activity. Many confirmed clonic-tonic and absence seizures. EEG ASD lights up like a Christmas tree, especially if Aspergers in very unique but often beneficial way. Does Cornell neurology feel this combination functional/electrical is helpful for my patients?
