Evolution would argue that the genes for autism are advantageous to the gene pool. Otherwise they would have been weeded out naturally over time. The more diverse the gene pool in any population the more robust the species. This diversity allows for more chances for species survival through adaptation as needed when the environment changes. Thanks for discussing this 💜

you speak so well about this, thank you so much for a clearer understanding of something that ive felt my whole life but could never really explain it, this is so important

Yes, many on YT. Sadly, there are problems like ageism, sexism, homophobia, & other such things thrown into the mix which causes many people with ASD to turn on each other - judgement is awful. Recently, the child vaccination causing ASD has grown big again supported by some. I have struggled, but life is what it is - an imperfect amazing & unexpected thing. At 66 years I am still processing feelings from my youth. Now, I realize that people with autism have deep rich feelings that operate differently. Neurodiverse people have the important offering of finer emotional connections. Thanks for your video & stay safe

As usual, thanks again, Quinn, for the clarity of your words and thoughts. It's just as you express it here on your video. Sometimes, I get a little bit tired of those different groups of "sacrificed parents" who "suffer" from having autistic children, discrediting our voices and/ or our ways of being. This also applies to many organisations and "renowned professional experts" worldwide, who seem to have a need of patronising, "normalizing" us by their standards. Autism is not an illness. We do not need to be cured. We are not broken or damaged ---> we do not need to be "fixed". As you said, neurodiversity is hope. Wish everyone an excellent 2021, in which our voices are heard and respected. Kind regards from Argentina.

In my experience, raising an autistic child is easy. Historically, leave us, as babies, in the woods to die as changelings, or lock us in the closet as babies and try to starve us, as mine did. No matter what, do not embrace the opportunity to raise an extraordinary person, because of the inconvenience.

Beautifully expressed and empowering. Thank you. I wish I had this in text format so I could cite it. (Anyone know of a way to do that automatically instead of typing and pausing?)

I know it was written in the Torah in the holy Bible that the world was round. I looked into that when I was a kid. For some reason he just reminded me they used to laugh at that. I don’t know what’s to laugh about just look at the moon and the sun.
