I didn't like this when you started the line work but kept watching because I knew you'd turn it into something I would like, and you did. It's awesome 👍 Have you tried Derwent Inktense watercolors, blocks and pencils? When dry they are permanent and can be worked over in layers without underlayers dissolving.

Thanks so much for this video. Your work never fails to inspire me. You asked if we find an element that we want to repeat, the answer is yes. :) But each painting that I do takes me to other places and I end up never repeating, except lines, etc. Which is one of the best parts of this kind of thing. What I repeat are the colors. I can't seem to get away from the blues, greens and raw sienna. As far as the white pens, I share your love/hate relationship with them. I've found some good ones, but there will also be bad ones within the same pack. My favorites this week are called Smootherpro. I got them on Amazon. So far, so good.

Hi Bettina, Just found your work and I am really inspired. Do you put anything on a finished piece to protect and seal it so it won't fade? All that beautiful work and I would not want anything to happen to it. Thanks for your demonstration.
@_bettina_fernandez_ Жыл бұрын
Wonderful! Actually, I don't. Some of them are stuck on my wall away from direct sunlight and the others are currently residing in a box in my closet, until I figure out what to do with them. But should I decide to sell some pieces I would definitely put a varnish over them.

Have you tried the Posca white fine tip nib number 1MR ? Or another great white acrylic paint pen marker is by Artistro…..they come in all different colours, but you can buy just the white ones. They also come in packs of white only or black and white mixed….or gold and silver !! The silver one is just like a mirrored chrome….it’s amazing !!! I have always found it hit and miss with the gel pens…..but you really won’t go wrong with the Posca or the Artistro.

I've recently discovered white gouache with a ruling pen. It is a bit time consuming as you have to keep reloading the pen, similar to a dip pen, but it's the brightest, most opaque white for highlights and such that I've found yet, with more control than a brush, and adjustable line thickness.
