thank you for taking the time to put these videos together. I am concerned about a move to connect the "gut brain" to consciousness or intuition. Have there ever been any replicated clinical studies to show that the neuronal/glial network from the gut impact conscious awareness similar to the neronal/glial network in the head brain?

Thank you so much for the video! Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but I think at 10:25 you say when the longitudinal muscles contract that they open up the lumen in front of the bolus , but at 12:00 you say that when they contract it opens up the lumen behind the bolus? Otherwise super helpful, your lectures help get me through school!
@zahraahussein5749
@zahraahussein5749 2 жыл бұрын
No He said that longitudinal muscle must be inhibited cuz we don’t want them to contract to squeeze the bolus into the oropharanges If they contract they will close the lumen in front of the bolus , we wanna stimulate the circular muscle to contract and inhibit the longitudinal in order to open the lumen in front of the bolus to makes it moves towards the stomach
@vemulakondachaitanya9700
@vemulakondachaitanya9700 Жыл бұрын
at 10:45 you said that when longitudinal muscle relaxes the lumen behind it increases in size. My Doubt : if lumen behind the bolus increases in size then how does bolus pushed forward. My opinion : lumen behind bolus needs to be decrease in size to push forward right.
