It may not be the video you want to answer everything your thinking but her research is very very valuable and will forever be. Trust me I know I had basal ganglia damage.

Churchland probably has more to say but she does not address the perception of norms that are illegitimate and then the subsequent deviance, crime, and coercion. Near the end, she addresses conflict. The particular sequencing or coincidence of altruism, self-preservation and self interest, and conflict does not seem to be addressed. Can it be that altruism is an epiphenomenon of self-interest, that is, that the effects of self-interested behavior are altruistic?

I was just thinking this same thing. Also to the extent of sociability "rates" or affinities that different people have. Not everyone is extremely social, some people are extremely shy and prefer not to live in close emotional proximity to others. Based on crime, I agree; a very interesting point you made there.

I don't have the source, but the part with, in-group/out-group due to agricultural society might be false. This behavior of hostility towards an exogenous group has been noticed among other primates. Territories are often protected and fended for by the group or even lone rangers like tigers.

Piling a heap of detail is not an argument and evades what is at issue.

So if the social structure starts to have no norms and no real wring and rights humans will loose morality by time the same way they acquired it. Is the same thing as saying morality is impososed. It is just self imposed unconsciously through time and can be undone the same way
