I just watch a video where the lady suggested spending up to 70% of your time posting on social media. I thought that wad insane! I barely have enough time to paint as it is with everything else that comes with trying to sell art. I have however sold a number of prints on Facebook groups by clandestinely posting paintings on hiking and backpacking groups like you suggested in one of your videos

I agree. Informative & thanks for helping artists learn from your experience & mistakes. I am curious tho, do libraries ever send out newsletter emails?? I mean they have all the patrons data at sign up for library card. If so maybe agreeing to a art exhibit for a month is fine as long as they agree to push your info in the Enewsletter the month before, the month of and give a follow up highlight to it the month after it ends... all w links to your website included. And highlight you also those months on their social w a link to your website

The library I showed at did not do that, but there was a local newspaper article about the exhibit. And I think they had some thing about it on their website, but no links to my website. I think they in particular had policies about that for some reason. Still didn’t increase my sales. Other artists could have different experiences though. Maybe it depends on where you live, where the library is, etc.

Library patrons are not destitute. That was your experience with your library. Your videos are very informative. Just be careful not to insult anyone. Continued success to you.

Sure, not all library patrons are destitute. But you have to admit that a person going to the library is not going there with the purpose of purchasing art.

@NeuroSoup A person going to the library may be going to a poetry reading, art class, writing class, political event, a lecture, etc. And those people probably can afford to buy art & can afford to buy books. . Again, your videos are very informative, and I have shared them with an artist I know. It is awesome you make a living from you art, that is a wonderful blessing. Continued & much more success to you.

I definitely get what you're saying, and I wasn't trying to insult anyone. I was just trying to make the point that most people going to the library are going to read books not buy art :)

@@KrystleColeArt yeah i had the same thoughts too. Idk if any of those kind of offerings are at libraries, or even have sign ups... maybe cuz im in low income area.
