Neuschwanstein started construction in 1869, so hardly the work of a "medieval king" as the description states.

@paraboo Ludwig II was extremely enamored by medieval culture. I’m sure he would have liked nothing more than to be called one. So I shall refer to him as so.

Ive been to this castle and the sorrounding country side and the views are spectacular...the Castle is nice but little tip if you are expecting to see fairy creatures princes and princesses..you are in for a disappointing surprise. Also the hike up to the castle is quite beautiful but also quite the work out. I recomend going in Fall cuz if you go in spring or summer you are gonna be waiting around A LOT.

It is quite beautiful until you think that poor subjects who lived in modesty gave their sons and daughter's, as conscripts to build this king's castle.

I bet that king micromanaged every aspect of construction. Those guys make everything harder. And they know it. But they cant stop.

Dangers of taking Wagnerian opera fantasies seriously echoed by Tolkien, J. K. Rowling's "Harry Potter", and TSR hobbies "D&D" roleplaying board games since at least Mad King Ludwig contributed to hydroelectric and electrochemical industry infrastructure.
