In this talk, we will demystify several foundational Neutron concepts and explain in simple terms how networking works, neutron architecture and also show you how to troubleshoot some simple networking problems that have taken some of us several hours to debug. This talk is for the a beginner in OpenStack Neutron to learn about the foundational concepts. You will learn about, 1. Provider networks 2. Project networks 3. ML2 Plugin and Agents 4. Overlay Networking and Network Namespaces 5.
Neutron is an OpenStack project to provide “network connectivity as a service” between interface devices (e.g., vNICs) managed by other OpenStack services (e.g., nova). docs.openstack.org/neutron/pike/

there is a mistake in the definition of security group, it is state-full not stateless as mentioned by the presented, correction need to be added

There are people learning OpenStack from many different countries where English is not their primary language. The presentation is intentionally kept a bit slower to enable everyone to grasp the complex material. Thanks for your feedback.

This basically explains nothing. It goes into some "features" but does not explain what a certain component is. So I now know that a overlay-network is vxlan and does L2 encapsulation. The same goes for project network, provider networks, etc... But what the function is stays fully unclear. Feels like reading the ingredients of a arbitrary cosmetic product, I know there is parfum and cocos-oil in it, but I can´t tell is this a shampoo, an anti-aging creme or a sun-blocker.
