Nevada in the 1960s was the only state with a higher mobster per capita ratio than New Jersey!

My father inlaw was the head mechanic for Bill Hararahs museum for 25 years. After he passed, his sons sold about 75% of the collection and forced my father inlaw into an early retirement. They're not loyal and nostalgic like their father was. Unfortunately. It was such a beautiful collection.

Not everyone appreciates the subtle beauty of the Nevada desert . I’ve spent many hours / days traveling back & forth through our State , exploring virtually every town / community that could be found. I wouldn’t trade it for all the concrete in New York City !

I live in Reno. Born and raised. Though I did move away a few times, I always came back. Nevada is a beautiful state. Unfortunately most of it, aside from Vegas and Reno (incl the surrounding areas) is federal land. Owed by our government. Unless they've sold it to China or Black Rock by now?

I grew up in Reno, we camped out at fort Churchhill, I was paid in silver dollars for chores, we lived next door to Bill Harrah and Ernie Primm. I was in the same high school class as Charlie Steen the youngest son of Charlie Steen the guy famous for the nations first uranium strike in Utah, he ended up broke having lost all the wealth from bad investments. Cruising Main Street in Reno on Friday and Saturday nights is how kids would hook up or find out about parties. My father a gambler ran a faro game at the Depot owned by Joe Lapp, he sold his Duesenburg to Bill Harrah during a bad run of luck. Times were much more colorful back then.

The native americans in Nevada are primarily various Ute tribes, especially Paiute. The constant references to “hostile” indians are pretty much bullshit. Although the ghost dance started there, the only hostile action I ever heard of was obviously hyped and manufactured by the white men. Oh, and the time I got into a wrestling match with a friend from the Pyramid Lake reservation.
