I love these old black-and-white western I'm 76 years old and you can wait three days and watch it all over again
@grantkruse18125 ай бұрын
Hey, I'm only 73, but I have the same kind of advantage...As long as we have a clear picture and some shootout action and chase scenes, I don't care how many times I've seen it, the plots are always the same anyway...Water rights and land grabs, with young gunfighters learning how to survive in a "Man's World".

You have your sprawling westerns like Heaven's Gate or the Spaghetti westerns but sometimes you just want an all action film with a clean cut hero,dasterdly villains and comic relief with plenty of fist fights all fitted in to 55 minutes of non stop thrills and spills and this done that perfectly thanks for posting.

A relatively young Allan Rocky Lane at age 36 in this one. And he's only packing one gun not his trademark two! In later films he went by his stage name Rocky Lane for the actual characters in his films. He died at age 64 in 1973. Also appeared as Red Ryder in 7 of those serials replacing Wild Bill Elliott. His famous horse was named Black Jack. Lane was never credited on-screen but he provided the voice of the horse on the TV show 'Mister Ed.'

Allan Lane was probably the fourth most popular star at Republic after John Wayne, Roy Rogers, and Bill Elliott. While he did take over the part of Red Ryder from Elliott, his greatest popularity came in his own series as Allan Rocky Lane. Although on the screen, he demonstrated his ability at being an action star, his off screen personality was quite different. He was said to be a perfectionist, wanting to take charge of his acting and extremely humorless. However, to the kids of the Saturday matinee, he was a hero and always gave his audience their money's worth.

Twinkle Watts is a very unusual name until you learn that she was called Twinkle Toes (Janelee) Watts. She was a Republic Pictures child actress of the 1940s. She got to display her figure skating talent in 'Lake Placid Serenade' (1944).

If Allen Lane was leaving that campsite, why didn't he throw the leftover coffee on the fire pit to make sure the fire was out? STUPID SCRIPT WRITERS or stupid Allen. Did his horse Blackjack die, he's not riding him, or is that not Rocky (the video is so poor, low-grade, it's hard to tell.)? Roy Rogers always rode Trigger and Gene Autry always rode Champion. Unless Rocky had plastic surgery and voice surgery, THIS IS NOT ROCKY. WOW They did not break the windows an the Rocky impostor ddf not even lose his hat.
