This is the kind of real estate agent we all need to unlike the bubbly phony who are there to make money at any cost to you. Thank you for having integrity, you are rare.

Wow, great video. I liked the part about the old oil storage tanks. One also has to consider whether their neighbors may have these as well and if they are leaking into your property. As we found out in one of our properties in another state the issue then becomes your problem to fix if it leaks from yours to another even if it’s from somebody else’s property. EPA mitigating not fun.. Also consider the aging gas lines and intake lines for water for older homes. Lots of lines are leaking gas around the country leading to home explosions. Lots of water intakes that are old are still made of lead in some places.

Wow, yes it’s a huge environmental issue, not talking about your personal safety and health concerns.

Old plumbing can be a nightmare. Electrical is usually more manageable.

Can you get a list of the permits that were pulled for the home to see what was done?
@livinginashevillenc15 күн бұрын
Yes absolutely, if they are more recent. For example, there are not a whole lot of digital records of septic permits in older homes. Not sure what happened but not everything got transferred over when they digitized the database.

The video of the neighborhood with stacks of flood ruined carpet, furniture, appliances, and drywall is very similar to what we've experienced in south Louisiana. The majority of these thousands of homes have been rebuilt or renovated(since Katrina in 2005 and the Baton Rouge flooding of 2016), and as time passes, valuations have increased. While I wouldn't buy one of these homes, I would expect the same thing to happen quicker in a strong housing market like Asheville. People forget, and others are willing to take the "500 year flood" gamble.

And interestingly enough, this same neighborhood had half of the houses flooded and the other one had no damage- because of the changes in elevation. Slight change but it made a huge difference

Are there homes left that didn’t get flooded?
@livinginashevillenc16 күн бұрын
@@adelinas.7335 i would say 90% of homes in Asheville specifically are fine and had no flood damage
