I use to think the AI had infinite gold and just "acted" like it had limits, but for the first time in 1000 hours, I actually witnessed an AI faction wither away because they had a negative income and they lost all their armies to desertion. I know CA didn't set the AI up for that because they never even attempted to cut costs or disband units. They just sat there and slowly died.

i do this a lot but my strategy is different 1 click balance offer 2 see how much gold it gives me if acceptance is still high check demand payment is maximum lower then balance if yes leave the screen and take the balanced offer if no play around to see how much you can really get out of them its most often that the balance is the best offer your going to be getting unless you have a very stingy Ai

My man, I gotta disagree with you (slightly) on this. ALWAYS click balance offer when you want the rest of your deal in gold. THEN manually adjust the payment to milk the AI for more money until the agreement is at the max amount before hitting red 0.0. This makes sure you get the max* money every time. *Max can be tedious to get the exact amount they're willing to pay, but it's doable. Pro tip, once you type a new number on the payments screen, click the radio button "demand payment" to trigger the attitude value to change. Otherwise you have to hit check and go back in to the payment screen if you want to adjust it.

This is GAMECHANGING for those of us to like give settlements to an allied faction but don't want them to to actually prosper. So by asking for too much money they basically can't recruit or keep troops to keep the given settlements.

Will the AI lose troops to attrition for being out of money?
@Seawulfnorsemen Жыл бұрын
The damage is VERY minimal. They barely suffer the losses the player does. Hence bankruptcy, supply lines, desert/snow, chaos/vampire corruption, and even plagues barely do anything to them.

Okay, so it may be a silly question, but does the amount of money (or you not asking any, for that matter) affects your relationship with that faction in any way shape or form? Like, you didn't ask anything in return: they love you. You balanced the thing with button: they liked you. You squeezed them like federal agent for every bloody nickel: they tolerate you.
@kuarti98 Жыл бұрын
Not rly. It has no impact. Actually, try always to squeeze them, so you can give the money you took from them back to them as gifts if you are trying to make them like you more.

It caps out at 2000 in the diplomatic screen per trade. It does not go infinite, there are not enough settlements in the game to do so. That's a bit of a misleading terminology.
@Battleseyttv Жыл бұрын
Firstly, thanks for commenting on the video! It caps out at 2000 only for those that have a weak economy, if you watched the entire video you'd of seen the example also with Volkmar who offered 3000 base, it'll increase depending on their income per turn. You're also insinuating that settlements are the only thing the AI would be willing to pay for which isn't the case at all, there's an abundance of things that'd allow you to leverage diplomacy to gain more money. Such as declare war on somebody. It isn't misleading in the slightest, if you're able to leverage diplomacy for whatever reason you can keep getting gold.
@FxTR22 Жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for the reply 😊 i was bit tired when i wrote this and kinda wrote nonsense. I watched the video till the end and i am aware of this mechanic already for some time. Usually i tend not to use it since next turn ai might have more money to spare, e.g. after a battle they won or if they loose an army and get higher income again What i was trying to say was that your description of the mechanic in the thumbnail never click this and then click it for a better deal is contrasicting. Misleading was perhaps the wrong word. Guess its get people to click more the video. 😂 You can squeeze some money out but this can give y not very much in return. Can iamgine working it ok with chaos factions which do not build up minor settlements.. What i was not aware of was that the ai actually goes into the negative. Thats interesting.

@@RealEvilLordExdeath I used to think the same way. I considered mods to harm the balance of a game, but over time I learned how 'balanced' games in their unmodded state are. Now I believe that depending on the mod, it can actually improve game balance and fix mechanics that function in unintended ways. There most certainly are mods out there that give ridiculous cheats, but the majority of mods are actually more balanced than what the developers themselves release.
