i do believe you're right that the rooster is better than the Ox but it wouldn't give "3 additional flies" Ox spawns 1 fly, and the rooster only spawns 2 flies because of the limited space so technically it's only 1 additional fly edit: technically a level 1 rooster would give just as many flies in this case (if it's in the second spot of course)

Because of the stat restriction of 50/50, at the end game a beetle isn't really any worse than a shark. It just tends to be easier to get animals with built in scaling to the cap. There is no reason to throw away a low level animal with huge stats.

Some pets have abilities that matter in the end game much more than other pets: Gorilla, Rooster, Turtle in Pack 1, etc. There is some reason to throw away juiced up pets for pets with specifically end game aligned abilities if you think you can survive until they can get back to par, but for the most part Derek is right: a 50/50 ant is going to do the same work as a 50/50 dragon.

@@gravitysuitguy2765 Well yeah obviously if they have secondary abilities. But all animals who's ability is to get stronger by any means will be the same at 50/50, it just affects how they get there. But once they're there, they're there. Though a 50/50 ant in battle would be better than a 50/50 dragon if everything isn't 50/50. And a 50/50 dragon would be better in shop if there was something that wasn't 50/50.

NL plays this game with two separate chunks of his brain. One chunk controls the shops, and knows how animals will interact and how to build a synergy. The other chunk watches the battles, and has absolutely zero understanding of how the build will play out live.

turkey and shark means the main thing your entire deck has to pivot to is making as large a number of summons as possible. the ox does not nearly scale enough in comparison. that deck paradigm is, or still can be, very good, you actually just didn't commit ENOUGH to it by continuing to upgrade and buy food for the ox -- that money couldve been spent on rolls for stuff like upgrading your other units, getting and upgrading a sheep, bee honey, etc

In turkey builds, you can only have a max of 2 buffers, need space for 3 spawners. So, Turkey/fly or turkey/shark. Also buying the sheep was the right call, keeping the ox for the whole time was just painful.

Towards the end you had three pay offs: Ox, Shark and Turkey, but only the deer and the fly to actually enable the syngeries. I think it might be better to replace one pay off (probably ox) with some other kind of enabler like the rooster early on. That way the shark and turkey get more value, and they aren't competing for space as much

I think the ideal mix is two support/three spawners. You could have ran turkey/fly, shark/fly, or turkey/shark, but running all three was too much. Turkey/fly would have probably been ideal.

Unpopular opinion: shark sucks in turkey build, if it was +1/+2 it would be different, but you lose so many spawns that get buffed it’s not worth I’d rather have a lvl 1 sheep with an extra life than a lvl 3 shark
