Well funny story with that one... I was team leader of the ride that year and I personally saw the fish in the low zone. I figured a bird dropped it, it also floods a lot over there so I thought it could have got in that way. 3:01 This reminds me of a similar but worse incident that happened at Disneyland Paris not too long ago. A woman got out of a boat in It’s a Small World as the ride was down and she then stood on one foot on the edge of the trough/rail thingy (she actually took the time to remove her shoes and roll up her pants so that they didn’t get wet) and then proceeded to move her kids out of the boat, all of this while cast members were yelling at her to stop. This was all recorded but I couldn’t find the clip on YT, maybe if you do you could put it in a future Theme Park Nonsense vid ! Keep up the great work!
@UwePieper10 ай бұрын
Must be pretty recent. Saw it just the other day. Hope she was not only removed from the park but possibly charged with other stuff. Not following park rules might be trespassing. Idk. Might depend on local laws. She endangered children!
I have to admit having participated in a "cup contest*" on a rollercoaster once, many years ago. But... 1. That was an event for enthusiasts, organized by the park. It happened not just with permission, it was encouraged by park management. 2. We only used thin-walled plastic cups and plain water. The ones that wind can knock off the table when they are less than 50% full. 3. It was not during normal operation, so only participants and staff were around. 4. The ride was comparable in size and intensity to a wild mouse. So even if a cup at gone flying, with these lightweight cups, not much would have happened. We only got wet. Very much so. But I guess that was the point... Under these circumstances I think that's okay. But not just for some stupid social media stunt. *)Before dispatch, each rider is given two cups full of water. After the ride, it is measured how much water is left, and a ranking is established. Who gets back to the station with the biggest amount of water wins a prize.

I used to think people complaining about "stapling" was extremely stupid, then I experienced it for myself. I was getting on Batman at Magic Mountain. I pulled my restraint down, and I noticed that there was a little bit of give in the restraint. I tried to pull it down farther, but determined that I could not do so comfortably and figured that extra bit of give was fine, and I knew it was down enough to be safe. I think we've all been in that situation where we're in between two "clicks" on a restraint. The ride operator came around and put his whole weight on it and forced the restraint down that extra click. I tried to say something, but he didn't listen. I am female... I have a rather large chest, which caused it to be squishy enough to allow him to push it down beyond what was comfortable... and to make matters worse, I have a condition called costochondritis, which causes horrible pain in my chest wall from problems with my ribs. I was in... so... much pain... throughout the ride. Then there was an issue in the station (probably some issue with loose articles or something) that caused the next train to take a while to load, so I was stuck in the holding brake for a bit... literally using my hands to try to hold my breasts into the middle part of the chest harness so that I could breathe without pain because it felt like I had knives stabbing into my chest each time I inhaled because of the pressure. When I got off the ride, I had to take my prescription emergency pain medication, and I actually had to leave the park early because it had triggered my condition, and it hurt too badly to sit up or walk to spend the rest of the day at the park. The chest pain was excruciating, all because some ride operator took it upon himself to push the restraint down too hard, and compress my ribs too much for me to comfortably... breathe. Ride operators should NOT be putting that much pressure on the restraints. Make sure it's secure and press down, sure, but when you feel RESISTANCE because you have hit up against a squishy part of the park goers body, then you should stop pushing. This guy needs a serious anatomy lesson about what breasts are, why your rib cage needs enough room to move, and why you can't compress a woman's breasts against her rib cage because it will make it difficult for her to breathe... All of that said, people who don't push their restraints down enough so they can try to stand up on the ride are total idiots... but ride operators who "staple" you and don't leave you enough room to breathe are total assholes too.

Not exactly coaster related, but there was a video last month of a lady jumping off a Disney boat ride (I think it was Gran Fiesta Tour) when the boats were stacking up near the unload area. She got out of the boat and walked up the catwalk to the exit despite riders and cast members telling her not to. What’s even more ridiculous is that most of the comments on that video were like “oh Disney can’t hold people on a ride for that long, she has every right to get out.” Well, I’m pretty sure in a situation like that a cast member needs to be present to assist in helping people off the ride. Had the ride started moving again while the lady was jumping out, she could’ve slipped and fallen. God forbid she fall into the flume water with moving boats.

The last bit about not wanting to do something stupid that makes restrains more restrictive made me remember about a couple of accidents that happened at Six Flags Mexico around 2019. There used to be two rides, one was a wheel of fortune and the other one a really calm ride with some circles on a spinning plataform. Both of them had the characteristic that individual gondolas could be spin by passengers with a variety of speed depending on their force and decision and neither of them had restrains, just reminders at the beginning of the journey to never stand up in the middle of the ride (quite obvios), and the personal was there the whole time and could (and back when I attended pretty much every week I got to see) scold people if they were not listening to the rules. Well with about a year apart there were this two accidents were teenage boys stood up in the middle of the ride and fell off, fortunately none of them died, but the wheel of fortune was closed and the other spent in inspection all the time the jury was deciding whether six flags needed to pay or not.

I was at 6 flags great America a few weeks ago. Their for the whole scream fest that they have going on. and i was on raging bull by myself. talking with the passengers that were seated next to me. as we waited to enter the station i felt something Smack the back of my head. Where i notice a cast iron ring had flew into me. From what i assumed was another train car that was going by. Never bring a god dam thing with you. Even if it is just a ring. Side note, i also took the ring. As the person who lost it, sure as hell don't deserve it back.
