Thanks for this video Jared as I was wondering about ride wrap. My bike is not as flash but I bought some Miles Wide frame protection tape to cover my downtube as I was getting sick of rocks pinging it all the time and taking paint off. It's very thick and isn't as invisible as ride wrap (especially on the edges) but it very sturdy.

Glad to have helped bro! I installed the ride wrap on my Fuel EX and it didn’t go so well 😬 Need to fix it

I have a YT in the Matte finish black...wonder how the matte protection film would look at the matt carbon frame ?
@JaredHoff Жыл бұрын
Probably look good as long as you can install it right. I’ve had issues doing it myself. Seems hit or miss! On my latest bike it’s bubbling up on the rear triangle, peeling off and trapping dirt behind it 😣

@@JaredHoff Ya, I found a local shop to install it..

Nice I'm looking to fit one to my new cube action team 160 when it arrives definitely want some protection at these prices eh I'd be pretty happy with that aswell couple battle scar's now you can protect lol ive seen that pre cht stuff but that roll is that thicker stuff or get a couple thicknesses? Warm soapy water on the frame first and then add the wrap like window tints is probably a good way of fitting them

I think ridewrap Is more of a protection from from rocks flying up and hitting your frame or those spiral scratches you get after a while. I’ve used all mountain style frame protection and it seems thicker so it would probably be better for spots that would be contacted during a crash or bail.
@JaredHoff2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice. I’ve used the all mountain before as well, and it is a bit thicker. Lucky this crash didn’t cause any major damage.

Thanks for the vid. "Background" music is definitely in the foreground, and made it harder to track what you were saying.

Hi I was just wondering I have a trek slash that I just got and I got a ride wrap kit but there is some plastic protection pieces around the rear brake to protect the frame from getting paint rubbed off from the hose rubbing, should I take it off and if I were to how would I. Any tips?
@JaredHoff Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t take it off. Ride wrap is a love hate relationship. Some pieces go on easy,,, some are a nightmare.
@grahamkingston1679 Жыл бұрын
@@JaredHoff I’m definitely hating it right now since it seems the downtube protector can’t be removed on aluminum slashes so I can’t get the biggest piece on

Doh crap. Good news you re well and the bike is kinda in good condition. That foil did a good job it seems.

I believe the all mountain style frame protection tape would of been better to use. I am sure you would of had less damage with that tape to be honest. Maybe you should check them out and less money to.

I used that on my last bike. It definitely works good as well. 👍🏻

I ride a Fuel EX 9.7 and hear a 'resonating' sound coming from my rear rotor when I ride at speed (due to vibration coming thru the frame.) Do you hear anything like that on your Slash?
@JaredHoff2 жыл бұрын
No I don’t. I’m fact this seems to dampen the trail vibrations a bit better than my last alloy frame did

@@JaredHoffThanks, I think I found the culprit. Rotor-rub coming from the brake pad because the wheel isn't true... smh

back on the clips huh?

I tried them out again 🤦🏼♂️ I think I just rode flats for way too long and can’t seem to get used to being clipped to my bike 😂
@MrSupermugen2 жыл бұрын
@@JaredHoff I think you need to use SPD with the multi release cleats with it backed off a heap. Thats how i got used to clips, any kinda tug will release them honestly when your set an ready to go just sit on the bike in the garage with your eyes shut, practice coming to a stop and releasing the "easy foot" i also biked around my cul de sac just clipping in and out. once your brain clicks to it itll be normal. i quite often will try "release cleets" while riding flats haha ive no joke toppled over from it lol

@@MrSupermugen thanks for the advice man. I definitely see the advantages to clips. Just not good at taking it easy. I’m always trying to ride toooo fast on technical trails my first day on clips 🤦🏼♂️
