Trackman provides an "optimal carry" number. Basically, how far you could have hit it with that swing speed. Do you pay attention to that at all, or is that one of the features you turn off? First time I used Trackman it was amazing how those number exactly matched my stock club yardages, but also, how often and how much I was below those, even on what felt like good swings. Now, I find that's something to strive for in a session. Just hitting that number or as close as possible all the time.

@@MartinBorgmeierLD Our trackmans have a second little radar thing that mounts above where you place the ball to record impact location. When compared with impact tape it is nearly 100% accurate at telling you where the strike was on the face so long as you have the correct club selected. With that extra data of having impact location that gives the spin calculation a lot more to work with and makes it more accurate. Do the shoes you wear impact the speeds you can produce ?
@tjallisongolf2 жыл бұрын
Yes. Athalonz is the best known and most widely used. They have angled, hard bottomed insoles to help ensure that you can load the trailside rapidly without going too far to where you can't shift weight to your front side. The hard insoles actually also ensure there is less shock absorption. Imagine trying to maximize GRF with a 2 inch sponge between your shoe and the ground. The GRF would be weak. I personally have switched to customized Payntr shoes that have carbon fiber in the outsole and I have added carbon fiber under insoles and placed my Athalonz insoles into the payntrs to try to maximize GRF.

almost all balls break when you hit them over and over again. Have enough balls for your practice, so you can cycle through them
@DavidParas2 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you compared these because I was using a trackman over the winter and it was driving me nuts it kept saying I had under 170 ball speed and then when I left I saw I put 3 balls through the wall - so I knew for sure I was at at least 200 ball speed. I'd say for ball speed the only other accurate monitor indoors is the top tracer monitor. I felt like it was very close to the foresite - but trackman in doors for over 180 ball speed is even off for the launch angles because it's still using the ball speed to calculate the numbers... I think the biggest issue with the trackman in doors is there is not enough space for the ball to release all the way especially with higher compression balls.
@MartinBorgmeierLD2 жыл бұрын
the issue is not the ball, it‘s the spin reading method
@DavidParas2 жыл бұрын
@@MartinBorgmeierLD Yeah i know - I was using the LD tour ball with the metalic dots... the place where I was hitting the simulator was too close to the wall as well - I just didn't realize it was that far off from the foresite - I thought they were pretty close - maybe they are outdoors, but indoors trackman was reading 20-30MPH slower ball speed. I mean when you are breaking balls, splitting driver faces, hitting it through the wall, you know your not at 170 ball speed...
@JimMaronGolf Жыл бұрын
I'm sure you hit it much harder than me, but I split several balls indoor and I top out at 165

Trackman indoors just hasn't been good experience for me. They really struggle with gear effect. You hit that toe strike that you know is hooking off the planet and gc3 catches it but trackman shows a 30 yard blocked shot to the right that keeps cutting.
