Whether you're denied or not, constantly applying, increasing credit limits and calling reconsideration can have your credit profile tagged with "credit seeking behavior". It's not a good look to have this on your file & getting inquiries removed might not change that you have this tag on your credit profile. The best way to change that is to wait for limit increases to automatically happen, and not applying for credit for 6mos to one year.

Start building your credit as early as possible. You want to increase your credit age. Never close a very well aged credit card. Its what gives you a long credit history.
