If you plan to pick up the don’t pass once the number has been established and play the pass side, you are better off not playing the don’t. Keep in Mind the pass line bet has the advantage until the number is established. On the come out, there are 8 ways to roll a come out winner between the 7 and 11, and only 4 ways to roll a pass line loser with the 12 2 or 3. You decrease your chance to win if you play both the pass and the don’t and hedge with a craps bet. Then pick up the DP as soon as a number is established. It may be a good idea for some other strategy, but not that ever.
