I'm re-watching this and just to say that the Melda subscription is cumulative, even if you leave and come back, everything you spend goes towards owning the whole collection or parts of, so you eventually buy all the plugins you want or all of them should you so wish, f*king awesome really, I always say that if I know Melda right at the start I wouldn't need much else, you can fly a spaceship with the functionality of there gear, have a fun day! ;D

Expensive subscription, yes and no. After you pay the amount of the MCompleteBundle, you stop paying and own everything (even future plugins we publish).

As a sometimes competitor to Melda, I still gotta say, these guys NEVER stand still and always have something amazing. Everything I've ever bought (and the free ones as well) have been absolutely top notch. I use their matching EQ for impulses at least weekly as well

@@dahlhousestudios I think that's a great policy for content creation. I'm considering the purchase at the current price, especially given that Melda currently offers free updates to their PIs. As you suggested, it could be a big time-saver in terms of getting the drum mix to a good starting point for further refinement. Though I'd be very cautious to incorporate a tool like this as an indispensable part of my workflow; after what Waves pulled with forcing the subscription model with no warning, I'm wary of being "fooled twice." At the very least I'll give the trial a go and see how it does on some rock and pop mixes. Even if I just use it as a time-saving tool to get roughs for some of the louder mixes I do, it could be worth adding it to the toolkit. Thanks again.

I was kinda sold that it was an "auto" "AI" mixing plugin too. While it's got some of that, it's mostly as you say: a massive time-saver. Also good for keeping your bussing and levels organised. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Ha, well, I think this plugin will appeal to many, but not to others-like you-who aren't looking to shave time off their drum mixes. I loved mixing this track the old-fashioned way, but I'd have been really happy to have had this plugin around to save a day. Thanks for commenting! You still need ears though, what's music without ears? I'm just learning this and I don't think it's my path to be a professional producer, what a vast amount of knowledge some of you guys have? As far as AI is concerned, as long as conscious people realize the importance of the inner process all art requires and that being the most important part, then it doesn't really matter, I mean if we end up in a world communist AI state then we'll all be on the plantation anyway with a few broom handles and pieces of string, if we're allowed string! You know, hopefully we won't all end up on the WALL-E space boat of ineptitude, this plugin rocks though, Melda make amazing stuff, one guy commented why someone's Melda demo was so short and I said that a full one would take weeks cos that's how amazing their plugins are and eh the prices are pretty good as well, while I'm waffling, the MDynamicEQ is like 100 bucks cheaper than the Fab 3 and things of that ilk and it's amazing....anyway thanks for the vid and remember that in the DUNE series thinking machines were banned as they tried to kill us all.....and they read all the comments so eh! ;D

Wow. Epic Comment of the Month Award™ 🏆 Agree with every non-sarcastic thing you said. The plugin is astonishing and it's defs not a human-replacement. Can't just drop this thing in and walk away. It took effort and decisions on my part to ensure good tone. And, as I said at the end of the vid, all we have to do is make ourselves personally invaluable to our clients and target audience and we'll never be replaced. We're all-for AI and algorithms that speed things up. Also, I incorrectly called Melda's bundle "expensive"; it's in fact an installment payment for permanent license. So it's a great deal actually. Yeah this is everyone's fear. But we're nowhere near that yet. It's arguable whether we'll ever be there-but it's obvious AI will at least take some of the work away (which isn't necessarily a bad thing!) That's why I say at the end, "Make sure to make yourselves invaluable to your clients"

no - auto will not replace engineers... your ears and making descisions based on experience and feedback cant be programmed or measured. Its like ChatGPT for programming: DONT!.. but it is a useful tool, also for leaning about mixing. And that is with my 40 years as a drummer/mixer and 25 years of programming for a living (drums ans studio gear is expensive ;-) )

Exactly. What Mela have made here is an incredible time-saver. If one tried to just open all the plugins and hit "auto-input" and walk away, the results would be garbage. Humans still have value (for now).

Remember a decade or two ago when the idea was that robots do all the monotonous labor and we're left with all the fun stuff like music? And now it's the exact opposite. The general masses are doomed to work the rest of their life, and we have AI threatening the artistic integrity of all artists. Gotta love capitalism.

This AI tool simply speeds up work-but we are definitely still needed. btw: this plugin, video, and device you're typing on were also brought to you by capitalism-nothing's perfect.
