I found you can use regular ziploc bags just fine. Add water to the bag enough to cover the fish (not slam full) and freeze that way. Thaws and cooks like fresh and a littler cheaper material wise.

Would like to see one opened in 18 months. PS Sorry to hear of Steve passing. He was a one of a kind. I miss his videos.

Dig it! Gonna give it a go. But also keep in mind, water boils off in a vacuum. Freeze first then vacuum bag it.

Larry- I will agree with other commenters that your fish bag had a lot of air in it still. I try and eat what I seal up (food saver) within a year. I have had very good luck when double sealing the food saver bags. Anything else I would consider freeze drying for longer terms. How did you seal the Mylar bags? Can you post a video? Also- I seal up all the tobacco you taught me how to grow. Phenomenal!

Your $400 vac master didn't look like it sealed that fish very good at all. You could see the air bubbles all over it.

...seems that there is still allot of air in ur plastic vac seal bag !!! ...yes, people do not get it that molecules of air get thru plastic. ...the heavier the plastic the less that gets thru. ....for items I know will be frozen for a long time I double vac bag. ...milar too expensive unless u know it's going to be stored a long long time ...I prefreeze items on a cookie sheet then I can vacuum bag tighter otherwise things get crushed

I like your thinking : ) It doesn't quite have the punch of a 'More From Thor' article, but the science is airtight.

I always put a double seal when I use my vacuum sealer because of failure. And yes it stinks to have a solid ice Cube in a vacuum sealed bag. That process is not cheap or easy to end up with a ruined product

The crappie limit is only 10 fish in Minnesota.. seems like overkill even if you have 20 fish. They shouldn't sit that long.
