A beating over the head with frying pan about how horrible a person you are...is what drove me away ...it took me 60 yrs to see the people that were truly Godly and lead me back...

If you preach the truth in the power of the Holy Spirit, it will be boring to those who are untouched by the Holy Spirit, the carnal Christian and unconverted. I disagree that you need to change the style or worse the message in order to attract the world into the Church. The unconverted will always find the gospel boring if preached faithfully, the bible says the preaching of the word is foolishness to them that believe not but is the power of God unto salvation to them that believe. The bible says the natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God. Dead men cannot hear the things of God, they are worse than bored, they are dead in trespasses and sins and they need to hear this truth. They need to hear the life and death gospel of Jesus Christ, to know they are lost without Jesus. When the truth is preached in the power of the Holy Spirit it's never boring to the spiritual and godly hearer, it's only the carnal and unconverted that get bored. Don't change the preaching style!! Pray that God changes the people!!
