@@burnstick1380 tbf i was still rooting for ian back in 2022 and up until game 6 he was putting such a performance (that game was madnessboth played with like almost perfect game, small mistake from nepo resulting a lose), his opening give him slight/small advantage but he can't convert it. after losing game 6 he tried to play more aggresive to look for a win that causing him more vulnerable.. One of magnus's strong point is his end game he hold on to the game so long until his opponent make a mistake and he convert it.. i think the best way to challenge magnus is to hold on the classical games and try to beat him on rapid. but 2021 chess worldcup also showed that duda beat magnus on that event.

Nepo has been my favorite player since his last WC qualification, but it’s games like these that remind me why. Na5 is a stunning move, particularly since it was outside of prep.

Nepo just outclassing Ding here. I think we underestimate Ian so much, when he is in form he's unstoppable. Also thanks for the awesome recap levy :)

Now what I think will happen is, the complete OPPOSITE of 2022 WCC, ian lost a game and collapsed there, now Ian has won and we know how Ian performs in tournaments if he gets a winning start, he's going to win a game within the next 3-4 games FOR SURE.

I think we frequently understimate everyone from the top 10, because they are always compared to Magnus and Magnus is almost a living engine. I'm rooting for Ding, but Nepo is simply playing better than him

He was obviously underestimated but that was because of Magnus on other end, Ding is great but is he really there..... probably no, also Ian lost the last championship because of his opponent's grinding game

@@SrinivashM29 i know that and I must not boast it but i really doubt if ding can go that extra mile to defeat Ian. You see, Ian always had supreme opening and in most matches was on par or better than magnus in opening, and in game 6 magnus clearly stated that he wanted a long game clearly showing that to defeat Ian one must be supreme in middle and endgames

After watching this game live with GM commentators, it's nice to watch dumb-down recaps like this. I love it specially when Levi shows possible moves and they magically happen after 2 moves. How does he do that?

It doesn’t surprise me that the recap was outperformed by the cheaters video because I believe many of us are watching the Championship live so we don’t necessarily need the recap immediately. Nevertheless, I am watching this one now because I had stuff to do this morning and missed it. I needed the recap. Thank you so much for your dedication and the great recap!

I watched the game a bit live, then saw the result, so I only browsed through the game 1 recap. It's probably to be expected for a round 1 draw that it didn't get that many views, regardless of who played in it.
