Never Seen Before! MASSIVE Hydraulic Freight Elevator | Hilton Atlanta | Downtown Atlanta, GA

I was exploring the basement of this hotel at 3 in the morning when nobody was down there and i discovered this, as well as a kitchen service elevator that hasn’t been filmed before i don’t think, although unfortunately this was the only one i was able to film because the kitchen elevator had a ton of shit in it and i couldn’t manage to get inside it. I almost thing this could be a new install? i’m not sure because this was either put in or modded at the same time the parking elevator was modded judging by the fact it has the same fixtures, and it also hasn’t been filmed before which surprises me honestly.

@@elevating_western_washington The gate "bounces" like that after the gate motor cuts off. As the doors are closing, the gate motor continues to run until the doors are fully closed. (It's just how the doors behave. Most freight elevator doors actually do this.) The gate "bounces" after the gate motor cuts off because of the forces from the gate motor continuing to run, and the little black bumpers on the bottom ends of the gate essentially being compressed into the floor. The retiring cam then locks the outer doors after that, so the gate "bouncing" actually has nothing to do with the interlock. The gate "bouncing" could actually become a problem if the gate bounces too high and fails to close by gravity, to where the elevator can't move. If that ever happens on any freight elevator, all you have to do is just close the gate the rest of the way yourself. It wouldn't hurt to put your hand on the gate as the doors are closing to prevent the gate from bouncing.

As of right now, you have found the only freight elevator in North America with a Telescoping upper door. Nice find.

@@elevating_western_washington I’m not joking. The only other place that is known to have a Telco Upper door is in Singapore. The fact that EMS was the one to do it too, is insanely rare. And yes they do use this for events because LG is the dock floor looking on google maps, and I see a lot of tables and other things lying around in the dock so that would be my assumption.

@@ArisBuliteanu A lot of third-party elevators have the same chimes. There is nothing pointing to MEI. This is likely just a third party mod/install.

I have this generic modernization/replacement for those old Schindler MT 300A Hydraulic Elevators at the DSO in Detroit, MI. They've been modded/replaced by Murphy or MEI elevator

EPIC MOTOR! Warning: Foul language in description, a bad "S" word is there. This is a very interesting find. By rule, you cannot ride these unless you have permission. This is definitely a Westinghouse freight elevator because all of the elevators in this hotel are Westinghouse.

There are 15 elevators at Hilton Atlanta it’s a mod
