Hey guys! Fun little update ahaha. I went to a car meet last night and saw this beautiful black DC2 pull up and freaked cause it looked so similar to mine. I even made a joke to ThatCarLife support saying “imagine those are veronicas parts”. Nek minut the owner comes over and we get talking. It turns out, some of those parts on that car WERE actually from Veronica!! I freaked out, still got goosebumps ahaha. It’s good to know part of Veronica still lives on! 🙌🏻

I really feel this. I literally just sold my own first car a couple of hours ago. I really hope that it's going to be well taken care of. I don't really regret selling it but looking back at my time with it I did get a bit emotional after selling it. If I had space for it I probably wouldn't have sold it but that sadly isn't how it is. My new car is a huge step up in every way but I'm still going to miss my first car a lot

I still have my first car. been driving it for 22 years. I tell my friends it’s a living breathing piece of history lol. I bought another vehicle 2 years ago and switch back and forth.

Man, I vibe with this I got my first car around the same time you did, in 2016 with only 40ish hours on my learners permit, before I was even into cars so off I went to a used car lot with my mum, test drove a base model 2001 Hyundai Accent that'd sat on the lot for 6 months an developed a flat battery, stalled it 200 meters down the road at a 6 lane main road because I had 40 hours on my learners permit and had to get it jump started with a line of people behind me. I bought it anyway 7 years and 130,000+ kms later, I still daily it. For what it is, it's been amazing to toss into the windy curvy roads here and even though the salty coastal air is making the rust is start to chew on it and the engine's starting to show signs of getting tired, I don't want to part with it. There's too many good memories in that silly little car

I’m 18 and my first car, the car I currently daily drive, is a 2014 Honda Ridgeline that my parents gave to me for college and stuff, definitely won’t be selling it, I will save up for an S15 but this is the car I’ll be driving even after I buy a house and other cars in the future

I am literally in the same position as you were in, I am on my L's and convincing my parents to let me get a VTIR DC2 Integra cause I want a project car in manual and we don't have any manuals

I had a EM1 as my first, absolute best reliable daily, sold it then got a GC8, fucken unreliable and breaks down every chance it gets, bad on fuel, but when it runs well, it’s a great little car. Funny thing was when I was in school, I wanted a DC2 or EG6 while everyone wanted Skylines and WRXs, in the end when everyone graduated, they ended up driving shit boxes

dont know if you will see this but, im in a situation where i really dont want to sell my first car, i have my eyes on a 2000 mazda sp20 which has been lowerd, fresh new wheels and is mechanically mint, manual too, i currently have the base model mazda familia, i really dont want to get rid of my familia aye, such a shit decision
@ThatCarLife Жыл бұрын
If you have a strong connection to the Familia don’t sell it, especially if you think you’ll regret it! Can never really replace your first car!! I wish I never sold mine!

How many K's were on the rig, my parents aren't letting me get something with over 200ks and its hard to find cheapies under that? what would you tell em?
@ThatCarLife4 жыл бұрын
Hugh McCann when I bought it, it had around 180,000kms on her! And It had 215k when I sold her. If you’re getting a Honda they’re very reliable and last a very longtime if taken care of well so you can maybe try explain how reliable they are and how cheap parts and servicing is etc. But if you’re gonna keep it for a long time I’d prolly look for something around the 180-190k kms mark too just in case! Always good to be patient and eventually the right one with the right k’s and price will pop up! Good luck man hope all goes well! :)

Title, but 98’ R34s are becoming legal in the USA in a year from now. Can’t afford a GTT without letting go of my 1JZ Nissan 180SX. This 180sx is my “first” car. 5 years. Sigh. What to do what to do.
@ThatCarLife3 жыл бұрын
It's such a hard choice to make honestly! Like right now I'm lucky to own an S15 which has always been my dream car, but theres always a massive part of me still that deeply misses my first car and wishes I still had it as well as the S15! Legit a very tough decision :(
@marshmower2 жыл бұрын
Keep the enthusiast model. Especially if there's no major rust holes. The bills will not get better with the R34. I think at one point the engine was a big deal but now, celebrities and serious collectors invest in the future value of those. I know this is probably offensive but the best deal today and future value could be a 350z. Maybe an 07+. But you can find 03 year models sometimes under $5000 and there's a decent amount of aftermarket in all price ranges. Those cars are thrashed all the time. If you have access to actual JDM parts, maybe get an R34 as an investment and keep it stock or use Japan parts. You can do right either way. 😋
@driftingbrandonc.64802 жыл бұрын
@@marshmower While a 350z is the go to it is also ugly lol. I would daily the R34 for a few years and then strip it down completely, paint everything including new parts and put back together. A reason why I’m considering the GT trim now as everything would be replaced including the engine anyways.
