As someone who has also been more into sonic than mario (ive played almost every single sonic game and probably havent played mario since NSMB wii) wonder really blows superstars out of the water by a mile

As someone who likes the sonic games wayy more than mario-- every single Mario game is better than the sonic games lol. If there's one thing Mario will always have over sonic its Quality Assurance. If Mario was ever released in the state that half the sonic games were the entire dev team would be looking for new jobs. Sonic competing with Mario is like McDonald's competing with Moxie's lol

An amazing tip I got from someone: if the flower's voice in Super Mario Wonder annoys you, turn its speech to Italian/Japanese but keep the subtitles in English

"development started in 2019 and there was no deadline for the team to rush" it is incomprensibly INSANE what just a bit more time in the oven can do for a game.

I will say that I played through this game with my 6 year old cousin and yoshi being immune to damage made it possible for him to finish the game and I think thats probably what it was deisgned for

I have to say, initially I thought Sonic Superstars was the best game, and don't get me wrong it still is because I have it, but after seeing Super Mario Bros Wonder and getting that game too, THAT game blows Sonic Superstars out of the water by a MILE. And I almost hate saying this, because I am just as much of a Sonic fan as I am of Mario. I am SO happy that they Nintendo brought back a 2D Mario game, because from memory the first 2D Mario game I owned, was Super Mario Land on the Game Boy. And now I am discovering the NES and SNES versions of Super Mario Bros 1, 2, 3 and Super Mario World on the Switch (never had those consoles back in the day. My first console was the Sega Master System II)

It's slightly infuriating that both of these games have issues related to their bosses (Sonic Superstars having way way way too long bosses, and Mario Wonder having like, 4 bosses across 7 worlds, so, not enough bosses)
