Corey Taylor sounds like a pissed off version of Chad Kroeger. Warrel Dane puts his heart into every single word that comes out of his mouth and has the most unique voice I've ever heard.

@PennyDreadful1 What's not to consider about head voice? Surely you're not confusing it with falsetto? It's perfectly connected with chest. The core technique is the same. It's the same register.

@PennyDreadful1 False - Ville Valo, David Lee Roth and Axl Rose have displayed modal voice ranges spanning four octaves. I'm sure there's other ones out there too - it's VERY rare, but it happens. Three-and-something octaves, like Dane, is considerable but not nearly as uncommon.

@LessthanJake14 He doesn't even have four octaves of actual modal voice, though his low range is really impressive nonetheless. He's never displayed five even considering falsetto. Warrel Dane is an excellent, skilled vocalist, but let's not exaggerate.

warrel dane had a vocal teacher that is the one who said that he has a 5 octave range. so i would go with the 5 range since it came from somebody who really knows something about singing and vocal ability.

@8NecroMassacre9 Well, I like slipknot, but for very, very different reasons than I worship the Nevermore gods. Slipknot is noise, and sometimes I like noise (disabled person in a dumpster, for example). But when I want to listen to music, I turn to Nevermore.

@BiollanteSpawn Warrel's voice isnt that bad but its a bit of an acquired taste. When you get used to it its pretty cool. And alot of heavy metal singers sound strange. Take King Diamond for example. But his fans worship him anyway and whats wierder is that they dont even bring up the fact that he sounds like a bloody cartoon character! What separates Dane from Mustaine is chops.He snarls alot but Warrel's has a schooled voice and it shows in how well his voice projects compared to Mustaine.

Theres only four octaves and i dont think Warrell can reach them but Corey probably has a one and a half range. Warell has a 3 maybe two and a have octave vocal range

Not really. Its a different but connected register. And to sing in it you must learn to approximate the vocal chords and be able to sing smoothly in and around it.

Nevermore are better than slipknot in my opinion. However Slipknot have influenced the metal scene more than nevermore have. And Joey Jordison is one of the best drummers in the world and probably better than Van Williams
